I can find plenty of info on how to root the N4. All of them assume that you have used the phone and set it up.

I want to root it before even using it. Is that possible? I can back up, but there wouldn't really be anything to restore. Can you do it without having to access an account at Play? Not putting in a SIM and going wifi only?

If it is - all my apps and updates are backed up from a rooted S. What will happen if there is a conflict on installing the zip backup from Titanium?
TB does say appropriate for transferring to new device.

I'd really like to use the already done TB zip. Some of the apps have huge databases and take forever to download.

I have CWM, Rom manager already from the S. Are they in the titanium backup zip, too? Will that be a conflict on restore? Do I have to delete those backups from the computer? (xp)

Yes, you can do it without setting up and without playstore access.

I just got my phone the sim card wont be here till next week. so I did everything without a sim. though I did sign into playstore and let google redownload my apps.
