Any good apps to replace the button bar?

Thinking about picking up the 2nd gen N7 but between the humungous bezels and the software buttons the screen just looks so small. I can't do anything about the bezels, but I was hoping there was some apps out there to get rid of the software buttons.

I know when I had a 1st gen N7 there were some apps which helped get rid of the software buttons, or hide them, but they were just ok and sometimes less than optimal. I was wondering if since then any new apps or hacks had come out.

If you root it and install a custom ROM that includes expanded desktop (allows you hide the status bar and/or software keys) along with pie controls (softkeys that are accessible from your choice of location (bottom, left side, right side, etc. You can find this in CyanogenMod, AOKP, etc. I don't know if there are other options from an "app" standpoint but I have used the pie controls before and I think that would work well for you based on what you are looking to do.

Yep, the pie controls are what you're looking for.

The Pie Controls app is available in the play store, but it won't get rid of the nav bar on the bottom without either modifying your system or installing a custom ROM.
