Any ideas of Drainage?

So I am having the same issue a lot lately. The phone is warm in my pocket and the battery starts dropping off a percent every minute. If I reboot the phone, all is good. I am thinking that something is running in the background. I checked in spare parts and can not see anything that is killing it.

Also, I understand about the back button, but in spare parts you can set the red button to goto home then sleep which is how I set it. Is that making it when you press the red button that it is acting as a back button or a home button? Should I change it back to be the button that makes the phone sleep?

Same problem here, when battery hits 50% it drops like a rock! -1%every 60-90 seconds. I have the 2000mah Andida battery and was starting to think that was the issue because I didn't notice this occurring before I used that battery, I probably never noticed it occurring before because I wouldn't let my battery get that low previously.

Stock Rom w/GUMBO Kernal and setCPU OnDemand 528/160 set to "on boot", End button set to go home then sleep aswell. I also wiped the battery history in recovery before installing the new battery

Hmm, I have the same thing, and I remember I changed that setting to be at home, then sleep. I think I will change it back and see what happens.

Speaking of which, minus the battery drainage, how do you like that battery, I just ordered mine today. It is the same size as stock right?

I have had mine set this way as long as I have had Spare Parts installed....The one thing that seems odd to me is in partial wake usage, the visual voicemail is always 2nd in the list, with a slight amount of blue showing, I dont get voicemails often, or open that program often though.

Size/fit is the same as stock, I've had it about a week now. It does seem to last longer than stock for me. Yesterday it was fully charged at 6:30am by 11:30pm it was a 53%, with stock I normally would've had to plug it in before then.

Have you played around with the profiles in SetCPU? I just enabled all of mine:

Charging 245/160
Sleep/Standby 160/160
Power <20% 245/160

No. From what I have read over on xda, with it set to On Demand, profiles are not necessary.

To answer your question, pressing the red button will do whatever you set it to in Spare Parts. Mine is set to go home, and then sleep. Thus, pressing it once takes me home (same as pressing home button) and twice makes it sleep.

This does not close apps. You need to still use the back button to exit out of apps. Also, another good habit to get into is hitting the red end button when you are done using your phone, so that it does put it to sleep, instead of waiting for the screen to time out.

Well, for this whole time I have had my phone, and I have gmail auto sync enabled the whole time. Decided to turn it off for now, I can check m e-mail at work if I need too, and will turn it on only if not near a PC. I think that will save alot of juice.

Speaking of which, that spare parts, hit end to go home, then again to turn off. Yeah, that setting NEVER worked for me. Always just went to sleep when I hit end, no matter what screen I was on. Weird.

I'm having some crazy battery drain issues too. Unplugged my fully charged phone at 8:00 a.m. and now at 11:10 a.m. I have 75% battery left. This is with zero talk time and 3 minutes of browser time. Spare parts is reporting 39 minutes time spent without sleeping and 26 minutes with the screen on. So there have been 13 minutes of time when the screen was off, but the phone was still running? Also there is no way the screen has been on for 26 minutes. I'm at work right now and I rarely take the phone out of my pocket. I was not using any media player or other application that is supposed to run with the screen off.

FYI I'm running Fresh 1.1 with the Gumbo kernel and setCPU that has been in ondemand the whole time at 528MHz max and 245MHz min. Any input on this would be appreciated.

Welcome to the club. I have not been able to figure anything out, and no one can really tell me anything either.

Basically, it boils down too, dealing with the drainage issues, buying a bigger capacity battery, or turning off your phone and not worrying about it.

Its freaking lame, I know.

Oh, another thing would be to take a wall-charger with you, everywhere you go, and have a car charger handy.

This phone, if you really want to use it like a data phone, you will need to charge freaking all the time. So yeah, I plan on buying another wall charger, and my bigger battery is on the way. I don't like having to turn off every single damn thing on my phone, that is NOT why I bought this phone.

If you come up with anything that could help, please post up, other than that, I am done trying to figure this out, and I personally am just going to deal with it.

And if it seemed like I was bitching, its because I was. I buy a badarse phone, and everyone I speak to about the battery issues, tells me to turn off everything. Weak dude. Weak.

BUTTTTTTT, on the same note, I mean, how great can a battery be, with a device that fits in your hand, and can run the same interaweb, along with thousands of other apps? Time to suck it up I suppose, woot!

I wish I could tell you why you get crappy battery life.. I really do.. mine will last about 36 hours on a charge with mild use...or 20 with moderate to heavy (for me).. I know that mine will die faster as the signal gets weaker.. I have Gtalk running.. I stream music... I watch a little video... I play a couple games... I txt frequently.. I check emails..I even make phone calls..a heavy use day would get me about 17 hours of battery life... that's when I have a good signal.... if I have to go to a customer site and go into a radiology dept... then I get 0 bars... and my battery is dead within 4 hours.

now, look at all the stuff we do on our phones.. we treat them like a laptop.. then look at the battery life of a laptop... 2-4 hours and it's dead... our battery life looks pretty good now doesn't it

I'm also running Fresh 1.1 with the Gumbo kernel and setCPU set ms7k with 528max and 245 min. On Demand kind of drain my battery fast for some reason. After installed of Fresh and Gumbo kernel the battery life was good for few days. Over the night it used to drop 5%. Past two days battery life is same way stock battery used to do. Full charge at 12AM 100% and 8AM it down to 85%. Checking the awake time was 10%. Spare parts list on top Android System with 20 min usage. All other are minimum usage.

I think others who has good battery life might have good battery;). To get battery life over 30hr with minimum to moderate usage that a good thing.

Oh and Mystic, I wasn't meaning my post to sound like, people who attempted to help me are dumb for telling me to turn stuff off. I hope you didn't take it that way.

I really enjoy this forum, and my phone, and as you said, its better than a laptop charge!

But you know what, maybe my signal strength isn't as strong as I think it is. I mean, I live in the middle of nowhere, where I have to travel 2+ hours to reach a town of 100k people. I bet its the network thing for me. Has to be man, because my battery can't just drop like that all the time.

But I did buy that bigger battery, I will try that and see how it goes. Thanks for all your help, along with all others!

lol.. no offense taken... and I know what it's like to live in the middle of nowhere... if it wasn't for my airave I'd only ahve 1 bar... or for a better example.. in my home office.. sitting at my desk.. if I turn to the right I get 1 bar... facing forward.. NO bars.. face to the left.. 1 bar roaming..

with airave.. I get full signal in my office and anywhere in the house gets 4+ bars. now if I drive 8 miles in any direction I get great signal.. I just happen to live in a gap for all providers with hills/small mountains all around me.. oh yeah... it's a small town... we have a flashing yellow light... maybe one day we'll get a stop light!

Yeah, I hear ya on that one, the only thing is, I get 3-6 bars in my area, depending on what building I am in. Maybe its not the network, and my phone battery is teh suxors!

well... with over 14 years of IT background... it's entirely possible you have a bad battery..

now... you could try overclockwidget... here's the apk (removed link since it doesn't work on 1.5)http://bit.ly/bbLLOL
it's version 3.12..I know that version 3.11 worked on our phones.. so hopefully this one does too... or I can do some digging and see if I can come across the 3.11 apk somewhere..

posted a request for info on the creators website.. hopefully it works with 1.5.. if not I asked him to upload the 3.11 apk

I second the idea of trying overclock widget. I was having massive issues similar to the ones you seem to be having, and switching from setCPU to overclock made an incredibly dramatic difference in my battery life. Also, are you using Swype?

I tried setCPU again last night after fully charge and put it on demand. Last time I tried my battery would drain so fast I removed. It was 100% around 10ish. I woke up at 9:30 AM it was at 91%. First time I saw my battery life much better for sleeping before it was at 80% - 85%. I used my phone for internet from 10:3PM - 12 PM today and battery drop to 85% much better I think. I try to look Overlcock widget on the market and couldn't find. Is it removed from the market? I want to try.

Won't install on mine. "This application could not be installed on this phone"

I was hoping it would still work on 1.5.. I'm waiting to hear from the developer on this. maybe he'll put 3.11 back up for us to use.

Had to rename it, but worked after that. Thank You kind sir

ok. I don't know if this is the right file or not.. I pulled it from my friends phone.. and it was the first time pulling a file from android... I pulled it from the data/app folder... if that's not correct let me know where it needs to be pulled from and I can get it..
