Any new phone rumors for Sprint?

LOL..so, I wanted to update the prediction posts that I had earlier in this thread. Here's where all "new" rumors / releases are with the most recent info (Official launch's in bold):

New Projection/Predictions:
4/22 - Galaxy Nexus and LG Viper
5/15 LTEvo (delayed due to Customs/Apple Injunction)
5/24 LTEvo (Phones finally reaching customers for soft pre-order release at Best Buy w/ Sprint pre-orders and other manufacturers trickling in afterwards)
6/2 - "Official" delayed LTEvo release date as announced by Sprint
6/21- SGS III (delay to 1st weekend of July)
7/1- "Official" delayed SGS III release date as announced by Sprint
7/15 - White LTEvo
7/29 or 8/5 or 8/24 - MoPhoQ (XT897) ???
Motorola Photon Q makes a stop at the FCC
7/29 or 8/5 or 8/24 - LG Cayenne (LS860) ???
- Putting this back in because the rumored specs don't really look like a "mid-range" phone and last week there was a report about it receiving wifi certification.

No worries. Talked to "sammy" and he knows nothing. no test devices even ..which would count out an August launch.

He is sticking with a October-November release....

target release would most likely line up with the next iphone

Wow...Samsung is really not worried about pissing Apple off...LOL...That's ballsy considering the patent lawsuit loss. Makes me gain more respect for Samsung.
 
It looks like some people are speculating that the next Nexus phone(s) will be announced around November of this year possibly. If the rumors are true that the phones will be unlocked and sold only through Google Play, how does this work with the carriers? Are you paying full price for the phone itself (let's just say $400) and then paying for your contract with the carrier separate? And what I'm really curious to know is if the carrier you sign up with will give you any discounts for signing a new or upgrading the contract if you get the Google phone? Or will those discounts only apply to the phones that are strictly tied to them and locked?

I read about this earlier today. I wonder if Sprint will get this. If so, what will be the pricing? This would really be a good phone to get as far memory goes. If the price is right I might sell my 32GB and get the 64GB.

You'll pay the unsubsidized price for the phone, whatever Google and the manufacturers determine that to be. Everything else will depend on the carrier you choose. If you already have a line of service, you can probably add a phone or upgrade to a family plan without having to extend your contract, but again that will depend on carrier. Some GSM carriers, like T-Mobile, offer discounts on plans if you bring your own phone (this is partly to entice people with iPhones to come over to them since they don't carry it, but it works just as well with unlocked Android phones). Sprint and Verizon likely will not offer a plan discount for bringing your own since you're not really bringing an "unlocked" phone to their networks (your phone has to specifically support their network) but it should not be any more than a plan using a subsidized phone.

Based on how they priced out the 16 ($199) and 32 ($249), I'd say $299 w/ 2 year upgrade. That is, unless Sprint decides to do a price drop on the 16 and 32, prior to releasing the 64.

That would be a good price for that phone. The 32GB on T-Mobile is $329.99. Glad I'm on Sprint.
 
Hey guys, need some quick advice...got the epic 4gt last December I believe with an upgrade, and my mom has had an upgrade since April or so that she hasn't used. Should I use it now and get the sIII? Or is there probably something better that will not only be coming out before the year end, BUT also be worth putting off the SIII to get?
