Any new phone rumors for Sprint?

Are you gonna use the upgrade for yourself or your mom? Assuming you get the new phone using your mom's upgrade, what will your mom be using? If the phone is for you, there 's really no point of using the upgrade until all the superphones are out. The sgs3 will still be around after all the superphones are announced and out. I'd say, by end of November, the whole sprint lineup will be out and available.

If the upgrade is for your mom, I'd still wait, but it all depends what her needs are, which will likely be different from your needs.

I would wait. We may actually see quadcore LTE by end of year.

Upgrade is for me and she'd be using my E4GT. But alright, November isn't too far away. Thanks for the advice!

If it's for you and you don't mind waiting, I'd definitely wait...if you can afford to. Asking the question, "is there going to be anything better than (insert name of Sprint superphone) anytime soon?..." is really an extremely subjective question. I don't think anybody can really answer what is "better" because new phones with "better" specs are almost releasing every 3-6 months. It really comes down to your needs and what is most important to you.

You could jump on getting the SGS3 or LTEvo right now, but are you the type that would look 4-6 months down the line and feel like the phones being released at that time are "better" and you should have waited? Nobody can really answer that question, except yourself. If this describes how your personality is, then I don't think you'll ever have a feeling like you have the "best phone."...Hahaha.

Bottom line, turnaround for tech/mobile phones is way quicker than it used to be. Every single year, the engineers in the mobile industry seem to find a "better" way to do things and provide "better" specs in the phone. It's so fast nowadays, phones don't hold as much "future-proof" status as they used to, which is why companies like Best Buy came up with "buy back" programs, so customers can guarantee that whatever they're buying, they can trade in and upgrade later down the line, without the hassle of trying to sell that product on their own.
 
I'm kinda puzzled why nothing has been announced on the Motorola Photon Q. Typically speaking, we'd see phones release around 1 month after they've passed through the FCC. The Photon Q passed through (or was announced to pass through) on July 5. Maybe they're waiting to announce the phone after the 14 day return period has passed on the white LTEvo?

I was hoping for a release on August 5 (or earlier), but I doubt that happens if no word has spread since the phone passed through the FCC 3 weeks ago. Aside from the single leaked qwerty phone picture, there really hasn't been much confirmation on the specs at all.

Yup. I like the programs for the "convenience." Better part about Sprint's program is, you don't have to purchase it. Only drawback to Best Buy's program.

I've even considered purchasing my next TV from Best Buy, just because of that program...LOL.

Recently happened for the Moto Razr phones too
ICS, World Phone Capabilities Come to Verizon’s Droid Razr and Razr Maxx

In that article, they clearly state that the phones have SIM cards, but it's unclear if Verizon will be unlocking to allow swapping the SIM for use Internationally.

I do know that the MoPho has already been proven to work internationally in different countries, but it was also marketed as a "world" phone.

Photon Q will definitely be a World Phone (international GSM capable). Stated big and bold, it seems to be one of the more unique features of the device. Along with the physical QWERTY keyboard, this device screams business phone. Not trying to pigeon hole it though. :)

The S4 Pro listed on the last spec sheet that I saw was an APQ type, not an MSM -iow, an application processor without any mobile modems built in.

The Verge article linked is for that model, the APQ8064.

The quad core by LG is going to use the S4 Pro and separate modem silicon; LG took the same approach on their last high end phone.
 
Well this will be music to my brother's ears. He's leaving at&t and coming to Sprint in Aug. This will definitely be his phone of choice.

Yes it will, he lucked out that a company is still making a "high end" physical QWERTY phone. In a bit of an exaggeration, they have all but gone the way of the dodo at this point.

I'm figuring it releases in 2 weeks.

-EDIT- Did anybody notice that it's only .06 thicker than the MoPho? That doesn't sound "as thick" as the early "leak" information that was being reported.
