Yeah, many seem to still be skeptical about LG's support, but I'm willing to give it a shot if it really does come with all the specs. I don't know where the 50mp camera talk came from in the description on that video because the video itself says 13mp camera at one point, but then there's another spec page that says something about the camera that you can't really tell if it's a #5 or the letter "S". I'm definitley waiting for this to be released, prior to making my upgrade decision, but assuming most (if not all) the specs stick, it's definitely a top contender, along with LTEvo, SGS 3 (64gb...if it comes out), & SG Note 2.

Yeah, the video was posted back in May, so I don't think all of them will necessarily translate to what is actually released.

I would love a September release to directly compete with iphone 5 (it has the specs to do so), but I believe it'll be October.

REALLY looking forward to this phone... really the only superphone sprint has on its lineup through YTD as far as I've heard. I know we have a long time before then.

I was looking over the dimensions again and the more I look at them in comparison to others, they're weird, but not really dimensions of a Phablet. Here are the phones I compared:

LG Eclipse (LS970)
130.9 X 71.6 X ???

Bigger (as in tall and wide) Superphones
SGS 3 - 136.6 X 70.6 X 8.6
LTEvo - 134.8 X 68.9 X 8.9
LG Optimus 4X - 132.4 X 68.1 X 8.9

Phablets
LG Optimus Vu - 139.6 X 90.4 X 8.5
SG Note - 147 X 83 X 10

By comparison, with the dimensions that were listed on the FCC leak, the height and width are closer to superphone size than phablet size. That said, it's extremely short at 130.9 compared to 136.6 and 134.8 (on the SGS 3 and LTEvo respectively), but is closer to the height of the Optimus 4X HD (132.4). The width is wider than the SGS 3 by 1mm.

My thinking, based purely on the dimensions listed on the FCC, is that it will end up being thinner than the LG Optimus Vu, which is extremely thin at 8.5mm. So, if you combine that with the shorter height, but slightly wider...it actually might be very easy to hold that phone as compared to the other superphones. We'll see. I'm excited to see how it stacks up with all the specs and feel. From that older leaked video, from back in May, it might be very nice. The other thing, about the weird dimensions is, with the shorter height, I'm assuming no capacitive buttons because there's no way a 4.67 inch screen would fit that height if there were capacitive buttons.

-EDIT- It's actually very close in size to the Razr Maxx, as far as height, but the Razr Maxx has capacitive buttons and only a 4.3 inch screen.
 
Okay, so maybe I'll be holding out to see if any of these Nexii phones (Is that how Nexus would be pluralized?...LOL) make it to Sprint:

Sony's phones have always intrigued me with their styling. Since I'm already considering the LG Eclipse, why not a Nexus version? I'd probably prefer the Galaxy Nexus 2 over the Galaxy S 3, just because I don't care for touchwiz and would likely use one of the ICS launchers, but I'd love the options if Sprint offers them up.

Anyway, as you know I'm pulling the trigger on 9/1/2012 to get the LTEvo. I know this LG looks awesome. It would be the only other phone I would be considering since I wouldn't go for the GSIII. I like having a removable battery, but it seems like those who have the LTEvo have learned to live with it.

I have a loaner LG Marquee and I don't like it at all. The screen lags a lot. It feels very cheap. But I really loved my LG Rumor 2. That was (is) a solid phone. I still have it as a backup.

No problemo! Just wish I would've been patient enough to wait for deals like this. It's okay though. Ordered another and the other 64 will go in whichever tablet I decide to get down the line.

I dunno. I'm resisting being attracted by the shiny. The specs of the Optimus look fantastic, but if the support isn't there I'm not touching it. My old LG feature phone (the Lotus) was pretty nice, but the last LG Android phone I played with (don't even recall the name) was godawful. Reserving judgment for now.

LG hasn't really offered a superphone for sprint yet. The viper is the closest, but that is more a mid range.

Verizon had the spectrum last year, which was basically the optimus hd and it got decent reviews.

But I agree about support. Support is very important for me, both non-rooted and rooted. Samsung's non-rooted support was awful, prior to the success of the sgs 2, but they seem to be on track after all the success last year with the sgs 2 and note.
