Any new phone rumors for Sprint?

Anybody know what difference between the S3-Removable 7.98 Wh, and S4-Removable 9.88 Wh would be? Would it make a difference with battery life?

I still carry a flip phone.

I moved my att line down to a 9.99 basic plan ....saving $480 per year....should pay for an extra device each year on Sprint....

or add it to what I am saving by my choice to quit smoking last month...which saves me
$360 a month...or $4320 per year

or the two total to just a tad more than my new truck payment :)

A lot of mixed reviews....then again the same was said about the S3 and we all know how that went. I actually like the design better than the S3 to be honest. There's a lot of cool features. Removable battery FTW. That's why I love Samsung. Will I get this phone? No. I'm waiting for the Note 3.

Well, everyones thoughts? I like it, wish they would have explained what makes the device sturdier than before....I'm really confused there. lol I can't wait for Anandtech's breakdown of it.

AND anandtech has answered my question....if it's accurate, " The chassis is plastic, with a metal rim around the edge."

This is also interesting. Size comparison, S3-136.6mm x 70.6mm 8.6mm S4-136.6mm x 69.8mm x 7.9mm

I thought the whole presentation was underwhelming. I turned it off when they began talking about the dual camera feature. Personally, I hate TouchWiz so I will never use those features. My main concern was hardware, which the device does have an impressive spec sheet. I was shocked to hear they would have DDR3 on-board. That is awesome. However, I don't feel like the S4 as a whole offers that much more than the S3.

I think I will be sticking to my S3 for the time being. I want to hear more about this Moto "X" device at I/O before I make any kind of major decisions.

Did you guys see this?
HTC calls the Galaxy S4 the “Next Big Flop” — do you agree?

HTC is grasping for anything they can to steal purchases from Samsung, but I honestly don't think that will happen.

Overall, the S4 is very nice. I'm extremely happy with my Note 2, so it's interesting that this year I will be laying back and just having fun watching in the background (since I won't be swapping out until 2014 (at the earliest).

Nonetheless, I like how they were able to make the S4 thinner, but still increase the screen size. I wonder if the same train of thought will be put into the Note 3 (although, I don't know how they'd be able to go up .4 inches in screen size, but decrease the overall physical attributes)? If so, the Note 3 could steal some thunder at the end of the year.

I swear, once upon a time, companies knew better than to talk smack about the competition.

Drex, that's your field, square me away - doesn't that just ultimately advertise for the other guy?

Anyway, the race is getting interesting, now it's time to find out the truth once owners get their hands on them.

I guess next is the X and the N3.

I'm going to miss the SGS4 / One debates here, this thread is much more civil than some others.

My biggest personal thanks to everyone here on this. :)

Although I was a bit disappointed about them not really changing the look of the device. I think we were all expecting that, so not a dealbreaker.

So far it's the best phone spec wise I've see so far. The HTC One is still a better looking phone but the S4 just has too much going for it.

But like drex, I'm not eligible to upgrade until early 2014 so I guess I'll be sitting this round out.

I'm gonna have to remember this tweet when the next quarter results come out. HTC shouldn't be so "sure" of themselves when neither phone has been released for consumers to buy. It just shows desperation when a company puts on a little smear campaign, on twitter or not.

It's like watching FOX NEWS & MSNBC go @ each other.

It'll benefit both,as evidenced here in this forum tonight.;)

However,I agree, this probably wasn't HTC's smartest move, drifting away from the Quietly Brilliant mode for a moment.

LG's billboards & HTC's tweet ..... seems these 2 are a bit nervous.
On another note, in response to HTCs tweet someone posted on the front page that HTC was a "blinkfeed" away from chapter 11 which I thought was hysterically funny.

I have to wonder:

Who paid more for the marquee/billboard space, SAMSUNG or LG?

I actually like HTC being a little aggressive here.

Sure, everyone prefers a class act, but Samsung ads making fun of apple worked[\b].

I think that they all do it. I was going to call it on tech, but then I remembered seeing pickup truck ads doing this.

I'm just too old school! :p :D

So long as consumers dig the winner like their favorite sports team, then these guys get to market that.

Instead of reliability. And all the features for a change, not just almost.

And honestly, I'm already seeing a little bit of "almost" in the SGS4 and the One, and Google's CFO came right out and said to expect it for the next Motorola.

I mean, c'mon, you know?

Maybe it's just me.

If they refuse to sacrifice thin, ok, no problem, how about Maxx versions (including whether removable battery or not).

They know what a lot of us root tinker for, how about an advanced menu so a lot of folks don't have to?

So long as consumers cheer their team, they get to vote themselves bonuses rather than deliver the whole thing.

And isn't that why we all came to this thread? Hoping that the next rumors finally come true?

LoL end rant, off soapbox! :)

The presentation was painful to watch, but,no,it won't be a flop.Just not as much excitement as the transition from the S2 to S3.

It'll sell well enough, probably again be either #1 or #2,but,may lose a bit, but, not much,of market share compared to last years' sales %.

We'll see how HTC/LG/MOTOROLA/SONY fare/gain against the two-headed beast of SAMSUNG & APPLE.

Yeah I have to agree. The S4 will sell very well but people who bought the S3 here in the USA are already locked up on contract like myself until next year. So they may lose a bit of market share. But not enough to knock them off the top spot.

I'm looking forward to the N3, S5 and this X phone.

Yes LG was on top. But wouldn't it also depend upon who wanted to advertise first? Or is it just done by bids?

Location, size, type, bid...many factors. In this case, I'd say LG paid more, since it's in Time Square.

Funny thing is, I don't know if it was the greatest strategy. The billboard looks way too similar to the official S4 billboards, so people might just look at the big number 4 and wonder why the heck there are 4 different ads promoting the same product...so, it might have the counter effect of driving people to wait for the S4.

If I were LG, especially considering they'll be updating the Optimus G later in the year, I would've asked all of the US providers to do a limited time price drop and instead of the tagline, "LG Optimus G is here 4 you now", I would have doubled it up:

"LG Optimus G is here 4 you 4 Free NOW"

That might have drawn some people to swoop up some Optimus G's instead of waiting for the S4 in a month.

Funny you mentioned the fact that the LG billboards looked like the Samsung billboards. I had to look twice at the pictures to really see the difference.
