No release date yet. Someone has a slightly buggy 4.4 build called SlimKat over at XDA and I'll be building OmniROM in 4.4 as soon as I get the kernel sources, though
From what I can see nothing ground shattering about the update. It does look to have a bit more eye candy and a few tweaks here and there..............

From someone who uses it firsthand.... Its definitely not just another "point update". It brings large changes to android. I wouldn't have been disappointed had they called this 5.0
Then maybe you know of something we don't? The rumors right now floating around to me do not show all that much of an improvement especially to designate a 5.0 status. If you know something please share......................
Edit; Ah now it seems more info is popping on the net about 4.4 so maybe as you say it is not the point update early info was essentially sating it was................
I think in the one link they say it just will not be enabled by default. It may be though that the option could be a performance issue for the huge resolution of the tablet.
There's been a lot of security enhancements in 4.4, so I was just trying to figure out which one you were referring to.
There's also been a lot of press about how its going to be bad for rooting, but the reality is it won't affect nexus users or any user on an unlockable phone.
The Nexus 7 OTA for both the 2012 and 2013 WiFi models has already been green lighted and url's leaked for manual installs, I expect the Nexus 10 will come very soon.
