any one scratch their screen ?

On the gorilla glass site it list the evo 3d as one of the products that have their glass. I have my 3D with out a screen protector and I was hopping that I did not need to have to add one, so has any one have any experiences ?

Gorilla glass doesn't really need a screen protector as it is pretty scratch resistant. However, if you are rough on your phones (Keys in same pocket) then a cover would be a good choice.

I've scratched Gorilla Glass before (keys in pocket, like the above person said), and it's super annoying. Why not just drop $2 on a cheap screen protector just in case? Check the accessories thread, a bunch have been posted - I'm quite happy with mine so far. :)

Gorilla glass is still just glass and can be scratched.

I don't run cases (I hate them), but I have found that the cheap screen protectors are actually the best, they are slippery, and don't hinder sensitivity. Screens are to important and too easily damaged by keys. It's almost always keys that damage mine.

nothing is fool proof. ive read on the triumph forum a while back that gorilla glass has a cover on it. also sand was a large threat to gorilla glass. ive yet to use a protector nor have i scratched a screen

Keys touching the screen is the biggest issue, since keys develop an edge where the grooves rub the lock pins in locks/ignition, plus the way they get held against keyrings.

I got these

3xNew Clear Screen Guard Protector Film For HTC EVO 3D | eBay

(Not advertising for them, but for $1.50 you can't beat it). They sent three individual retail packs with screen wipes. Bought these for other phones and they would just come unpacked in an envelope.

They are just static protectors. Clean your screen a few times to get all oil/hair/dust off. Make sure there is no air blowing to the phone from a fan or A/C (to keep stuff from sticking to the protector).

Then just peel off the #1 film, line up the top edge so it is straight, then fold it like a taco and let the center seem touch all the way down, then push the sides down. You may end up using more than one to get it right at first if you get something under the screen.

Once you are happy then peel off the #2 film that is on top.

It helps take glare off the screen too. It takes a few days for it to feel slick again, at first it feels a tiny bit tacky but that wears off.

Prior to applying it my screen was so sensitive it would activate with my finger about 1/8" AWAY from the screen, and it still does with this protector on... so it isn't taking any sensitivity away.

Yeah a lot of the wear on phones will vary with each user of course. Me for example; my phone isn't likely to get scratches while sitting on a desk all day :D

Besides offering scratch protection I think the best reason for using a screen protector is that it provides better impact resistance when the phone is dropped. While Gorrilla glass offers exceptional scratch resistance it is relatively easy to crack from impacts.

thanks for all the input, i have always been a protective screen user. but on the triumph i did not and the only damage ive made is a very small scratch, not noticeable from having many keys in my pocket all day every day at work, I do think i will just get the screen protector to be safe.

The Triumph came with a decent stock screen protector already applied. This was in addition to the shipping protector. It is not part of the gorilla glass. The Evo V does not come with a stock screen protector other than the shipping protector.
