Any (Physical) Problems With Your Evos?

well the phone charges but when i connect my phone to any computer it doesnt mount.. even after putting it in disk drive. so i have to resort to taking the battery out in order to put anything in my sd card

so i dont know if its my usb port on my phone.. ive tried different cables and on diff computers..

im rooted..runnin sprint lovers rom

Do you have the settings on your phone set to automatically charge only? And not switch the connection to identify usb drive.
 
the only issue i ever had with my evo is that it doesn't swim in toilets very well. I learned never take my phone into the bathroom when i'm just waking up again
 
Just sent my EVO in for a warranty claim regarding the oft-mentioned USB charging port becoming loose and not charging unless you're holding it doing a handstand and whistling the intro to "Patience."
HTC denied the warranty claim due to the water damage sensors. The phone is painstakingly cared for, never dropped, and has never been exposed to water. My theory is that either these sensors are way too sensitive (it was a humid summer) or they're simply lying. Either way, they want to charge me $240 to fix an issue that isn't water-damage related in the first place. Seems to me that the most profitable path, since they essentially have a monopoly on warrant-able repair, is to deny as many claims as possible with this "water damage" excuse because, hey- what are you going to do about it? Anyone else have a similar experience with HTC repair?

I have had my phone wet plenty of times and my water damage stickers are just fine. I've sent my phone in once for the Charger issue as a warranty claim and it went through. No problems.
 
I've been through so many EVO's...I've lost count:

Light Leakage (the biggest complaint)
Buzzy Vibrate
The 'B Key' bright spot
Dead pixels
Dust under the glass


HTC makes absolute junk hardware.
 
Second Evo. Same problem expcept different conditions. First one I broke the lens cover on the camera. Never had a case on it.

Current one has a crack again but this one has been housed in a Otterbox case since day 1. Doesnt affect pics but like the previous one its only a matter of time until it cracks and caves in. Then in turn the actual lens of the camera becomes an issue. And it has light leakage still. Sprint "replaced the casing" but its even worse. I have light leakage real bad on the bottom and both sides.

Just saw they released a protector for this. Day lay and a dollar short for me.

Also when connecting to the comp it gives me the option to Mount as disk drive but for some reason doesnt register very often. After numerous attempts and restarts it will finally catch on. Can't figure out why but it does it.
 
cracked my camra lens on my first evo. had sprint replace the whole phone cuz they couldnt do just the lens. havent had any issues with my replacement...so far (knock on wood)

LOVED the comment about dropping the iphone. my bf (who just got the verizon iphone) didnt appreciate it though!

Ya, cuz water damage causes loose charging ports. Sprint and HTC will get what's coming to them soon. They can't go on bending customers over forever, especially with the crazy amount of STILL not fixed hardware defects.

And yes, given the fact that they seal these phones with elmers glue and scotch tape(see glass separation), I'd bet you money humidity can trip the water sensors. I'd still bet more money that HTC or Sprint is lying though, as they are really good at that.

Lol... well as stated a few post ago, I finally cracked my screen today. It fell out from my lap as I crawled out of a jacked up Dodge 3500 onto solid pavement and scattered gravel.

I live in Louisiana with frequent 100% humidity days. You can't walk outside for one secong without sweat beading on everything. As I've said before. My sensors are fine. I even put my next to the tub with the heater on in the room and shower on full blast at 1000 degrees (jk)
 
I have small light leak (hidden by the case), Scratching around the edges of the plastic (created by and hidden by the case) as well as two bright spots (only noticed on a white screen while scrolling...). Not sure if I'll bother to get them fixed since I'm not under that $7 warranty, but we'll see...
 
Went over to Sprint to change my USB, for a new one, and they gladly gave it to me. Now, does anybody know how to tighten a loose kickstand?
 
Picked up my 0003 refurb last night. Spongy screen bottom...light leakage and the menu led is a different shade of white..yellowish..
 
I have only two issues with my EVO.. about 3 months ago my speaker in the rear is blown so any sounds like speakerphone sounds distorted as well as music and ringtones.. I did order a replacement speaker yesterday...

Also the data/charging cable the little hooks that keep it from falling out so easy well they no longer hook so it falls out on the slightest tug of the cable... Also replaced that.

If you look top down at the buttons, through the screen while its on, does the menu button look like its dimmer, or being blocked? The one that the repair techs broke made the LED seem dim, or yellowish, but looking top down you could see some sort of blockage.

I really think the refurbishment teams and repair techs have about a 20% success rate replacing screens without damaging the shell, LEDs, or leaving light leakage.
 
There are 3 EVO's in my house, One was purchased the day the EVO launched, one was purchased a few weeks later, and one last month. All three of them have been flawless! No problems at all. :)
 
I have been through 9 EVO's. ALL have had light leakage and developed some other problem.

HTC is pure garbage, they wouldn't know how to make a quality handset if they tried. I'm seriously considering the Sprint Nexus S 4G when it drops next month...
