Any place to buy this retail?

Staples

If you go to staples.com search Nexus 7 then click on '' check in store availability'' type in your zipcode and it will show staples stores within 20 miles with nexus in stock.

be aware when you see a store has "low stock",
sometimes it might be a display unit or a defect one from return,
so make sure you call before you rush to the store.

Yeah I got mine at Walmart.... they advertise it as a "Asus international tablet" haha.... when I called to see if any were on stock he said no ... also I bought a galaxy tab 2 from best buy and the guy there tried to say the nexus 7 isn't being sol
D at any retail stores. He also tries to say no tablet has more than 1 core... I held myself back from backhanding him... lol

Okay cool thanks for all your replies and help, they are greatly appreciated.

I had almost given up and was going to buy it in the UK a month from now for 311$ instead but now i'll just find a store that has them on stock.

How are you liking the device so far? I had a 3G Kindle while travelling and it was awesome, in the span of 5 weeks i read like 19 books and i hadn't read a single book for many years before i got the Kindle thing. The screen broke though a couple months ago and i have been thinking about getting a replacement and the Nexus 7 seems like it could be the one. Very excited about getting this thing.

Yeah I'm currently reading the 50 shares series right now... easy on the eye's... probably not as good as the ink display on a kimdle though

I just picked one up today while in the local Staples. Only store in town to have one so i guess I got lucky.

Walmart is the place to go. I went to a Staples near my neighborhood last week when their online inventory showed stock. It was completely incorrect. There hadn't been any in stock there for days. But I gave Walmart a shot next door. They didn't have it on display but had them underneath. So ASK if you don't see them. I was at another Walmart tonight and saw three in the case underneath. Again, no display.

I picked one up today at staples. Interestingly enough, there are two local Staples stores, and while one of them had none in stock, the other had many. Staples was actually the ONLY local store with any on stock... Walmart, GS, office depot, etc... Had none.

The retail stores that sell them in the states are: Walmart, GameStop, Staples, Sam's Club, Office Depot.

Most of these stores you can check online for store availability. I bought mine from Walmart and did store pick up. Bought it online and had it ready for me to pick up at my local Walmart. Easy and quick.

My advice to those of you who haven't been able to snag one yet is to check everywhere possible. Every retailer who might even have the slightest possibility of stocking it. It took us several days to put one up on display after we got the first shipment. If you don't see it, ask about it, show a picture, whatever. They are out there, it's just a matter of tracking them down.

I saw the 16GB version last night at Fry's. I would have snagged it if I had the money...

The Staple's circular in the Sunday paper here has 8gb Nexus 7 in store only. Not sure if that is nationwide. I would assume so.

I just took my 3rd one back to Walmart this morning.

What issues have you been experiencing?

The first one was perfect, except after 2 weeks it got a black line across the screen. The replacement I got from Google had screen separation and bad light bleed. The one I got yesterday from Walmart, a batch they had just received, had a slight creak in one small spot on the left side when you pressed the screen. After using it about 6 hours it was that way down most of the left side.

I surrender.

Picked mine up at sears last friday. If you go to their website, you can search for stores in your area that have them in stock. It's pretty hit or miss, and can change from hour to hour. (I had a gift card, so I wanted to buy there.)

Best Buy probably will not be carrying them, since they have too much inventory of the other tablets. Though a tunnel vision approach, they fear their current inventory and aftermarket cases, etc will collect dust if selling the N7.

There is also a rumor Apple is "helping" Best Buy not carry the N7.

I wish the N7 had a card slot. I will wait for an eqaul quality 7" tablet WITH a slot, before retiring my 32gb View. It plays game emulators as good as the Tegra 3 and all but certain games like GTA 3, just as smooth.

As a total media device, the extra storage still makes the View a better option for me. Clouds are for battery drain and rain.

My local best buy told me they planned to stock them, so I hope this is true and not just an uninformed employee.

When I asked she had to go find a manager, so I could see it going either way lol

I've been hearing both rumors on Best Buy. I've read that they're not carrying them, then heard that they're supposed to be in their system on the 19th.

My local store said that they plan to, but they couldn't give me a date on when. He said they were backordered.

I really hope they do. I returned my Prime there, received store credit and planned on picking up 3 Nexus 7s.
