Any regrets?

Thanks everyone...how is the size when making phone calls? 80% of my calls are either bluetooth or speaker phone, but occasionally I do make "normal" calls up to my head....do you feel that its too big/awkward to make these type of calls?

Also how is the vibration in silent mode? Is it strong, weak, just right?

Absolutely love this phone !

Screen is crystal clear, especially the darker colors !

Got it because it was free with a 2 year deal, sceptical about the size at first but after a couple days of use you will feel comfortable handling the LARGE screen.

Have fun

I regret being a cheapass and not getting the faster shipping.

samsung note 2.. free with 2 yr deal? with what carrier? in usa?

that is great you all love your SGN2... but from what i seen so far on this thread... mostly moved from a sammy or apple device to SGN2.

i love the htc sense...
i would like to hear from those that moved from a Sense UI to the SGN2 touchwiz.
are there any small features that you miss?

one feature I sure hope that the new touchwiz has...
i can set the phone to lock after a period of time in sleep mode.
after a set time in sleep (1, 5, 10, or 15 mins)..the phone will require i input a passcode to unlock it. this is great if you are having a text conversation and dont have to unlock everytime to answer.

past touchwiz did not have this feature.
unless I'm mis-reading something, Touchwiz has the auto-lock after a set time of standby / sleep.

Having used several HTC phones I miss nothing about Sense. It was bloated, caused black screens of death on my Evo 3D. I will probably never buy a HTC device again.

Touchwiz seems to add features just in the right places. Sense was just too much imho.

Currently I have an iPhone 5 on order that will be here today but I'm seriously thinking of going for the Note 2. The battery life on the Note 2 is something I would definitely fall in love with. Also the iPhone hasn't really advanced and I am bored with it so I am seriously thinking of going with the Note 2. There are, however, 3 things that concern me about the note 2.

1.) The size of this thing. I have played with them at stores and even made sure it will fit in my pocket, but I'm not sure this will be practical carrying around all day. Most things I use 2 hands for anyways (Texting, Web Browsing, etc.) even on the tiny 3.5" iPhone 4S screen, which is why I think a bigger screen will be nice.

2.) Samsung is known for having really bad reception on their phones when it comes to CDMA. Their AT&T and T-mobile versions seem to be ok but not their Sprint or Verizon versions. I need a phone i can rely on which is why I really liked the iPhone, it had great reception. This is the biggest concern of mine as of right now because if I return the iPhone 5 and get the Note 2 I will be stuck with the Note 2 and I don't want to be stuck with a phone that gets crappy reception.

3.) Having to deal with insurance if something goes wrong with the phone. With Apple I could purchase Apple Care+ and if anything goes wrong with my phone I take it in to my apple store 30 miles away and it will be fixed or the phone will be replaced with a brand new phone (not refurb). If I go with the Note 2 will I have to pay deductibles on the Asurion insurance for Manufacturer defects and things wrong with the phone or only on accidental damage like dropping it? I used to know all about the insurance thing but I've been out of the loop for a while now.

Ultimately I am just bored with the iPhone and would love to come back to Android but I refuse to get something running ICS so it comes down to keeping the iPhone 5, going for the Note 2 or looking into the Droid DNA which looks to be a better size for my liking but without all the things I like about the Note 2 like battery life and some of the Touch Wiz and S Pen features.

No regrets. Only "issue" is the unavailability of the larger capacity models. Why advertise if we can't get our hands on them? Other than that, can't say anything really bad about this phone.

I thought the same thing until I actually received my Note II.

The device doesn't seem overly large at all. In fact, it feels like the size of what a phone should be. Fits snug in the pocket -- not tight at all.

I was bored of the iPhone after 6 years and have no regrets switching over to Android.

your payers have been answered! the new GN2 has this feature. you can set it to required pattern lock, pin or password after a certain time the phone is asleep (mine is set to 10). so if the screen turns off after the screen timeout (lets say 30 secs) waking it again you only have to swipe across the screen to unlock if it has been sleeping for less than 10 minutes (you can also require it to ask for te security check instantly if the phone falls asleep).

Hi there. For me, GN2 is really a beast. I have been using s2, s3 and ip4s before this. Gn2 is really packed with those goodies a tablet and phone can offer.

Get a gn2 if you want a phone that can work like a tablet and a phonr at the same time.

This is one investment you will not reget.

No regrets. Absolutely NONE. Even when I'm having a little trouble with drivers, I'm still in love with it!

One regret to buying the NOTE 2 is that I can't stop looking for cases and accessories for it due to the fact that this phone is one of the coolest things I have owned and actually THE one of the most useful investment I have banked on. I am with it literally 23 out of 24 hours of the day...maybe even more due to the fact I use this beast as my alarm clock as well.....so literally only time i am away from it is when i jump in the shower....that's that one hour...:smokingsomb:

so to sum it up:

Regret in buying things for it...(ie..five cases and counting)

Lol. Wow and I thought I was bad!

No regrets. I love this phone.

Only little difference is I have had more spelling errors with the touch keyboard vs the BlackBerry qwerty style mainly due to my touch keyboard experience level.

But every day it gets easier and easier. I can even type sometimes without looking with minimal errors.
