Root Any stable Roms?

I had that issue with one of the CM7 GB nightlies too, basically battery life was cut in half and going to a different nightly doubled it back to normal. If you don't want to give up on CM7 definitely try a different nightly.

Please excuse my being unfamiliar with the term "nightly" here. Can you tell me exactly what that means? Does it mean that they release an updated ROM version every night!? When you install a ROM, you have to then restore your apps. I don't think I would want to be doing that every day! So the CM7 that I flashed was a one time event back when it happened. According to my DX the CM7 MOD version is 7.1.0-DROIDX-KANG.

Nope :0 It means you flash their updated work on top of your current build whenever you want night. You don't need to restore apps and what not. It's ok to skip nightlies too.

Oh! Well that's pretty cool! :) As long as you could simply flash over top of things, it would be a piece of cake. Do they also work in reverse? That is to say, if you had a problem with Wednesday's release, can you just flash Tuesday again and "fall back" to it?

This actually isn't a nightly. It's the Revnumbers version of CM7. Maybe I'll flash a nightly and see what happens. I've got nothing to lose at this point.
