Help Any way to force usb storage?

Been searching for a solution and no luck.

When I connect the usb cable I'm not getting the offer to initiate usb storage. I've tried several computers. It's charging, but I can't copy pics/music to/from the phone. It seemed to work in a Win7 machine a week ago.

Usually it's trying so hard to turn on usb storage that I can't even send a text message, it'll just keep asking, over and over, interrupting whatever I'm doing. But now that I actually want to use it, I get nothing.

Is there absolutely no way to go into a menu and say "connect to usb" or something? I just want some pictures off the phone, and I'd rather not have to email them all individually.

Really starting to hate this phone.... sorry to gripe, but Android is so glitchy, GPS takes 10 minutes sometimes, randomly crashes, and I've seen all the other issues you guys have had. I got a cracked screen and a new phone on the way. This time I'm not flashing any roms.

well after trying 4 PC's and a Mac I'm inclined to say I simply don't like Android or the Triumph. Unfortunately, it's about the best deal/phone you can get without a family plan... so much for free market.

I did figure out a slight workaround. You can select multiple pictures and email them all at once. So at least I can get the pics I need off this stupid thing without sending 20 emails.

Guess I'll never be able to add music again... without using a card reader. Completely lame.

hook up your phone to USB
Then you should get a notification on the phone that says" USB Connected" with the USB symbol
Open the notification tab and tap it select the message
on the bottom really big will say "turn on USB storage"
then the computer will read it as a drive.

if that way does not work, you may have it shut off somewhere? The only time I could not get that to work was when I needed drivers for the phone. The MT worked out of the box for me

sounds like either your USB cable or jack on your phone has *hit the bed.

I agree with this. It sounds like either the data pins on the phone have stopped working or the cable got damaged...

The MT isn't really the best example to make your decision on whether or not you like android either... there are other android powered phones that actually have decent QC and aren't rebranded from a not that great of manufacturer...

try a different micro USB cable. it's possibly your cable.

in the meantime, here is something to try. download SwiFTP from the Market onto the phone. Download Filezilla or another FTP client program onto your PC. Now use FTP to send files back and forth to the phone.

I did this all the time with my MTs, because the fewer cycles on the USB / charging connector, the better.
