Anybody looking at moving to the G2?

I'm going to flash TWRP, I just haven't had time. I'm thinking about giving clean rom go. I just need to find some time, this will be my 1st go around with adb. I refuse to use flashify to do it. I don't want to take the risk of it not being 100% functional like there have been reports.

Also add a screen shot of your setup to thread in the g2 section.

I used flashify every time and its always worked fine for me. But and is easy. Just shift right click and choose open in cmd prompt inside the folder you have adb.exe

did you read...the guy got most the major bugs sorted out in cm10.1 I think I might make the move soon. But, I don't know, I really havent been messing with my phone at all because i've been playing f1 2013 on my pc :D

BTW i know you're an f1 fan, if you happen to have the game, I'm InsiD :]

I have been keeping a close eye on that thread. I unfortunately don't have the game. I am keeping my eyes open until f1 starts here at 2am. Suzuka is one of my favorite circuits. Red Bull front row!
 
In case you haven't tried it, Clean Rom is a nice setup. I've been using it since the night I got my phone and I love how smooth it is and the battery life.
 
Sure does! From what I can tell, double tap on is in the kernel and double tap off is in the ui, so as long as it using the stock launcher it's good.
 
And now I can say the g2 definitely gets better signal than my spectrum did. At the location I was at today my spectrum would have 1 to 2 bars and the battery would be down to 10% by 3 between nav there and weak signal. My g2 is down to 71% from the same treatment.
 
On stock firmware, this phone is amazing.... I have rooted. Will probably mod when I get bored. Had zero reason to change anything besides rooting for freezes atm. Battery life is incredible. Zero lag as of yet. One bad ass phone. :smokingsomb:
 
Any idea if it has a hardware clock?

Ie. Well it keep it's time on reboot if it had no signal

I'm in the same boat. Root to freeze bloat. I did flash TWRP, just to flash it. I have clean rom downloaded and ready, but I'm so happy with stock I can't bring myself to flash it.
 
I set my phone in airplane mode and then turned it off and back on 3 times to see if it kept time. Twrp was wrong, but clock was right in normal boot while in airplane mode. I don't know if that was what you were asking our not...
 
Set to airplane mode, shut down for 2 minutes then reboot and the clock was right. I also will set airplane mode over night and the alarm rings at the correct time.

technically, if the phone has a hardware clock TWRP *SHOULD* be right. But there's other variables. If it's not showing in the 70's like the spectrum did... its good.

It's a phone issue. It's common to all recoveries on phones that do not have a hardware clock. The phone sets the clock when it boots up via the radio signal. The recoveries don't turn on the cell hardware, thus have no signal to sync from.
 
I actually bought the Spectrum used and it turns out that phone was stolen or lost and I jacked up the sim card and Verizon couldn't fix it because of it being on that list. So I just bought the LG G2 in the last two days, and now it gets a nightly CM 10.2, thats freaking awesome! :D
 
OK, I'm thinking about your post IMUcarmen. What are people doing modding an exceptional device already? (I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you're just making people aware there is developer support for it, so the hop to the G2 from the Spectrum has that upside).

OK, I imagine the response: making an exceptional device even better. :smokingsomb:

But seriously, what is CM10.2 doing for the device? I think if I can get into a G2 in the next 6 weeks when I'm due for an upgrade, I'm going to want to see if I can live with the device stock for a bit anyway. :rolleyes:

Surely I won't get bored or feel the need to fix something that isn't really broken.

I mean removing the bloat is one thing... But, with a different launcher, can't you make the U.I. a little leaner and meaner?

Does CM10.2 do anything in the way of improving performance, responsiveness, UI simplicity, battery life, functionality, etc over what's there and what you would get out of using a replacement launcher like Holo HD or other?

Please constrain your laughter. The question is serious.
