Anyone get better reception after FROYO?

I loved the dinc, but that's why I left for the dx. I have to do business on my phone and I can't keep having the same troubles. I was hoping they'd fix the call quality issue. This is discouraging to me because I love the dinc. :(

Same here Steven. Which is why I am getting a Droid X as well.

I don't know if I have better reception...but I definitely have more bars in more places...oh wait...that's not VZW...anyway, I appear to have better reception.

Yep, had an average 90dbm at home and is now at 80 most of the time, and the signal bars are consistent instead of going from 0 bars to 4 in a second, and then back.

I am definitely getting better reception on wifi but the phone reception seems the same. I had clear reception before 2.2 anyway. At home I was lucky to get -85 dBm and it's still the same. I get around --65 dBm at work and that's still the same too. No real change in bars at all.

Irony: Signal is better at work (both bars and dbm)

BUT!

VZW combined the former Alltel and VZW towers in the area where I work a couple of weeks back. As an former Alltel sub, I used to get awesome 3G speeds while the VZW subs had crap. Now I get the same crap that the VZW folks got. Looking at where Latitude plotted us on the map, you could tell that we were talking to different towers...that's gone.

I get frequent speeds of about 55k down/25k up with infrequent bursts of normal throughput. Pandora and Slacker constantly choke and play partial songs.

It's a real bummer.

i had a record of different places when i had 2.1 of the db's, now i'm checking them out and i have about 4 to 10 db increase in the areas i have checked so far. Home was the worst db and am now showing 4 to 5 db gain. Ifeel it could be better but it did improve.

I have had a substantial bar increase from two bars in the living room to 5 only briefly if you do not do anything more on phone its goes back to two bars unless you are in a call then its maxed. WIFI is better as well maxed bars in living room as well. -85db on the read out. never had call quality problems.

When I use my phone at my house people hear every other word that I say. *sigh* I thought I bought a smart PHONE...

I have seen an increase in bars also since receiving 2.2. Hopefully that equates to better signal strength and not just lipstick on a pig to make the phone appear to be receiving signals better.

Hmm....are you guys getting your dBm signal reading from Settings----About Phone----Signal Strength?

If so, I have no clue why you guys are getting such low signal. Everywhere I go in Tucson (AZ), I average -30dBm to -45dBm and 3-4 bars. This is with 2.2.

As far as a comparison goes....sorry, I can't help. I wasn't really that interested in call quality, signal, etc with 2.1. I haven't had any reception issues or call drops either.

I have definitely noticed better reception since the Froyo update. As a matter of fact, a lot of things have changed for the better after the update.
