Anyone getting 4.2.2

I don't like the inconsistency here. Short press Airplane Mode to toggle, long press Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, poor UI design google, this should be consistent.

I currently use a 3rd party app for toggling features because of this inconsistency. However, Google have managed to break that as well by changing the permissions on Airplane toggle, a terrible decision.
 
Im disappointed at how long this update is taking. Its been nearly a week and I've checked for it countless times, but no luck.

Regardless of the update being useful or just trivial changes I was hoping for better from my first Nexus device. After being on the Galaxy S2 for 18 months I grew frustrated at the length of time an update would take to reach me. The promise of quick updates on a Nexus device had me all excited (for want of a better phrase).

I guess that by the time I receive this update it'll still be a heck of a load quicker than getting it from Samsung. I just hope I'm no left waiting this long for some Key Lime Pie!!!

PS - I love the phone, its simply amazing :)
 
Hey, go into settings and then apps and all apps. Then open Google framework services and delete data. Reboot the phone and check for an update. This should work. Took me a few times so keep trying if it doesn't work the first few tries.
 
Thanks, but this sort of defeats the point. I've seen this method already and have been put off a little by some of the comments

The problems mentioned above are a fluke - very sorry it even happened to him, but tons of us do it without a problem. Enjoy!
 
Now my 2 week phone is doing the update. Its weird. I been trying for a few days manually. Since you all said you dont see anything great, I dont bother. But I got the msg just now to update to 4.2.2.

Since I am getting native teather, I dont bother to root for now.
 
Pleased to say that all is well. Update installed as planned without any problems. Just need to monitor it and see if the battery has improved for me
 
There's a detailed comparison of the 4.2.2 and 4.2.1 UI on AndroidPolice. Basically, there are a few cosmetic differences, but essentially nothing exciting. I'm hoping that the under-the-hood changes are more worthwhile.
 
battery battery battery. it has transformed my battery life. like my battery just doubled or tripled its capacity. get the update and your battery will love you.
 
was getting about 10-12 hours with light/moderate use... I just got 54 hours light use without a charge...like I said... transformational.
 
That's pretty impressive!

Can't say I've noticed any difference with the battery in the week since I got the update. I didn't have an issue with battery life, anyway: it's always been perfectly adequate for me. Not that I ever got close to 54 hours!
 
the screen time on isn't a lot. I don't play a ton of games or surf a lot on it. primary use is phone email calendar and camera. before the update I was losing about three percent every 35-40 minutes with the screen off and doing nothing with the phone. I am now dropping about 1% ever 35-40 minutes under the same conditions. truly amazing difference. I also did a factory reset when I did the update. although most of the apps are now back and my battery is still just amazing.
 
I must admit, this is one of the best updates ever, the battery life difference is similar to night to day.
