Root anyone getting better battery life with setcpu?

ok so i rooted my triumph and put recovery...
i got setcpu and dialed both max and low to 1024mhz.
so far i noticed a little improvement in my battery life!
can anyone try this and confirm it?
i want to know if its just me or anyones phone battery life can be improved!

I haven't rooted yet, but I have started using Juice Defender and I've noticed a dramatic increase in how long my battery lasts.

i'd imagine setting min and max to 1024MHz would reduce battery life... phones aren't constantly running at the speed advertised they idle at a lower speed (min) then increase up to the advertised speed (max) when needed

if your phone spends a lot of time idle lowering the min might give some battery life gains if you do a lot of heavy usage lowering the max could give some battery life gains increasing either will only serve to drain the battery faster

also unless the triumph's kernel supports overclocking out of the box setcpu is doing nothing

You just saved me some typing. the point of the min being low is so that it can scale down when not needed. Not sure but I cant imagine turning that up all the way would be good for your phone.

just switched to umph kernel yesterday. 122-1900 smartass. seem to be getting slightly better battery life compared to stock.

juice defender helps a lot as well. free version doesn't allow custom whitelisting. i used to use jango a lot so that's obviously a problem.

jd really shines when wifi and data syncing are off. around 1.7x improvement.

normal day to day usage with wifi/sync on, jd nets around 1.2-1.4x.

I love the battery life I get extra with JuiceDefender.

Correction. It's almost entirely necessary now with this heavy-duty device... also, NoFrills just quit working so now I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place with SetCPU... hopefully running on 245/1700-ish won't get it too angry at me (already crapped out twice in a row today). Wish me luck?

I’m getting an extra 4 or 5 hours using an insanely customized Juice Defender profile. For starters I have JD scale my CPU based on use so it underclocks when the screen is turned off. I have also seen a vast improvement allowing JD to toggle wifi based on the location data the phone is collecting over the Mobil network so it knows when I am in a location I have used Wi-Fi before and will turn off mobile data and connect to the hotspot. After enabling this setting I would recommend looking for a hotspot every ware you go including stores, restaurants, work, fiends, girlfriends. Just look for wifi anytime you are at a location for more than 10 minutes and after a week or two JD will start seamlessly connecting and saving you battery power without you even being aware it is doing so. I also allow JD to turn off 3g/wifi when the screen is off and then turn one or the other on when the screen is turned back on depending on location. I have it set to turn 3g/wifi on every half hour and let my apps sync during work hours. Is set to change to 10 minutes at 5:30 when I am done work and then every 2 hours after 2am until the alarm goes off at 7 just so I don’t wake up to all my apps trying to get online. You can even set a separate schedule for weekends. Anyhow Juice Defender is an awesome app that can give you hours of extra battery life.

I am using Tickerguy's latest beta build of CM7. I'm curious which governors you guys use for best battery life without suffering a decrease in performance.

Right now, I am using the ondeman governor with a SetCPU screen off profile at 122mhz min/max.. I am debating on using the smartassv2 governor since I know it locks to the minimum frequency on its own. During active use, which one saves on battery? Ondemand or smartassv2?

I know some recommend conservative governor for battery life but it is too laggy and slow on response for my lacking so I'm down to choosing between ondemand and smartassv2.

Thanks in advance for your input.
