anyone have an Evo 3D with no issues what so ever?

This is my forth HTC phone and I can say I have never had issues like these.

1. Lockup - My phone locks up at least once a day, sometimes more. I have to pull the battery. This never happened with my EVO 4G
2. Headphone Skip Issue - Very annoying

I have reported these issues to HTC. I will patiently await a software upgrade.

I had to return my first one due to a bad vibrate motor but the 2nd one I got (as well as my girlfriend's 1st) have been nigh perfect.

I've found one issue. I've saved my apps to SD, now every time my phone boots, all of my home screen icons (for SD apps) default to the ugly little green android icon. I have to remove each icon and recopy them to the screen. They are fine until the next boot and I do it all over again.

Happened both before and after root. Maybe will be fixed after I load custom ROM.

Profezzor, if you think this one is biased, look at the problems poll. No consideration or tracking of those who have no problems or are satisfied. Only wants to hear from those who are unhappy or have issues.

I apologize... That poll is in another forum. Still for whatever reason there is a lot of bias against this phone. A big part, I suspect, is because of the "gimmicky " early reviews.

I have to agree when you say that a lot of people are against this phone. Particularly iphone users. Hah, in fact, I have iphone friends that I hardly hear from anymore BECAUSE of my 3DVO. Can you imagine that? It can easily be chalked up as a gimmicky phone because of its 3D applications and entertainment value, but there's an inherant likeability and user-friendly quality about the EVO in general. And I think that's what some people tend to forget. It IS an EVO, first and foremost... It's the 3D aspect that people use as an excuse not to like the device.

That's like me saying I hate the Ferrari 458 because I don't like the brand of tires it comes with.

There are issues with the 3D? I haven't run into any. I would've said the 3D features an issue, but (I can't believe I'm saying this) I'm actually amused with it...

I currently have the photon, miss the evo 3d, so my idea I had was return the photon, get my money back, and then go to bestbuy to get the evo 3d, my concern was gettin another bad evo 3d, first time I had it, the radio in the phone was garbled. Now I am thinking if I return it back to sprint, get the evo 3d from bestbuy, that should give me another 30 days correct? whats bestbuys return policy? are they more strict then sprint? if you think about it, you can get any phone you want, you have 30 days, you keep returning it before 30 days, technically thats a loophole no? tell me what you think and if you have done that before

I traded my Epic for a refurbished Evo 3D. The only problem I've seen is that videos that played fine on the Epic will skip a little on the E3D. Not a big deal, though.

It's on 3 forums that I know of. And if someone disagrees they get a wall of text.

I've had mine since 6/25 and the only real problem I'm having with the phone is a severe case of separation anxiety. I'm getting better though, yesterday I didn't pick it up for a whole 10 minutes! :p

You and me both... There's not a single day that I haven't used it in some capacity since I've had it.

Only difference, is that I got mine on the morning of the release date (6/24)

Tell me about it! The one I was referring to has the title, "What's Your Most Significant Problem With the EVO 3D? " as though it is just understood that all of them have problems. I and some others said we are happy with ours and were slammed with some pretty rude replies. One person accused those of us who like it as being "members of the HTC church of Worship " or of having stock in HTC. It was obvious that the original poster did not want to hear from anyone who is a satisfied customer. When called out on how biased his survey is, the OP said we were all like Justin Bieber fans who would get mad that a survey posted on a Justin Bieber site of which of his songs is his worst didn't have the option of "none." Lol, I shouldn't have gotten sucked in but I said that if one were to post that on a Justin Bieber site one could conclude he was doing it to get a reaction, in other words TROLLING. And all of that about a PHONE. I don't get why it is so important for some people to "prove" how bad this phone is. So ridiculous and immature.
Edit: Haha, I post in several forums and so do you it appears! You are very familiar with the thread I am referring to... You posted on it too and liked one of my posts and I have liked some of yours too ;)

BB will at a point could deny an exchange (3 plus phones is my guess) but I think you will be alright. Return that photon if it isnt right for you and come back home.:D

There is NO such thingas a perfect phone. With that being said, I've had my 3d since release day and i have no complaints.

Someone that shows that much enthusiasm to defend a dubious poll almost seems as if their "job" depends on it. Coming from 2 years with a Pre I'm thoroughly satisfied with HTC and Android. Other than the non dimming 4 capacitive button lites and the short duration notification led (Matias Duarte I'm giving you a stern look) I love my new toy. :D

That's uncalled for and goes against our site rules to simply attack issues and not the people posting here.

AndroidForums.com members are allowed to express their opinions on issues as passionately as they want and to the extent that they feel without snark.

Cheers, thanks a lot, carry on.

Hi Early! In Wiley's defense (not that he requested it or wants it) he was actually commenting on a poll we both saw in another forum. I like it here because people are allowed to express their opinions and personal attacks and insults are not tolerated. Sadly this is not the case in other forums. It is disappointing when one states his or her satisfaction of the EVO 3D in the EVO 3D section of a forum and gets flamed for it.

Well - I guess you're saying that he was calling out someone else on another forum for being a goof. Glad I just posted a public service announcement and didn't take it further. Wiley, sorry if I offended you by accused you of other than you did. Maybe I'm lacking reading comprehension, but I thought you were flaming Carrie here.

Ok, so that's that, this is this, I feel we should move back on topic, so I'll start.

My first 3D was a lemon (bad RF stuff) and I replaced it within 24 hours, so I've had this one since June 25th and no issues, I've been happy.

Then I perm rooted and unlocked the bootloader.

And removed the Spiderman game and that thing with the game controller icon at the top of the app drawer - and my call audio quality skyrocketed upwards.

That's not the phone's fault - that's Sprint's fault, and exactly why some of us swear by root.

So, now I'm even more satisfied.

In fact, I've added on a tinkerer's project and I'm running a _full Ubuntu Linux distribution_ (when I want to) side-by-side with my full stock Sense 3 and Android 2.3.3.

Despite people in other forums who find the 3vo display washed out, I find it's the most color-neutral display I've seen on a cell phone. As a guy elsewhere said, color and resolution didn't matter to him - he just hated the 3vo's washed out colors. To each their own, I guess some people like extra red, green or blue or purple in people's faces when videochatting or watching movies to kill time.

By the way, to support the Ubuntu installation I've overclocked my phone from the stock 1.2 GHz to 1.5 GHz (others are even going up to 1.7 or even 2.0 GHz). I'm not an overclock freak, I just wanted enough oomph to run two operating systems.

For my trouble, my CPU (just the CPUs) now accurately benchmarks just a hair above the SGS2 (and that's a top-notch processor they have there).

All of my services work, all of my features work, I have a very smooth and lag free phone and it does more than I want.

And when I lay off running a full-up Linux where I get to do image processing and put together animated GIFs, or run a full desktop version of Open Office, the battery lasts a long time, too.

if this is a new account...
be very very very careful!!!!!

when you use the 30day return guarantee.. cancel your new account...
sprint will put a wait on you... you can not start a new account for 90 days (or something like that).

No sweat. :D We were commenting on about a post on another forum. We both responded to a poll with a list of 10 problems with something like "what about none of the above" and we get flamed with a wall of text. I guess you had to be there to appreciate the situation. I have no problem with you or Carrie or my Evo 3D. Sorry for any confusion.

Ran a half marathon today. Had 2 programs running simultaneously using GPS tracking to report to websites my positions so friends could watch. One app was acting as a backup for the other. GPS was on for a total of about 2 hours. battery drained 30%. I thought that was outstanding given that two apps were number crunching the GPS data.

It was also pouring rain the whole race. GPS accuracy was dead on. Some of the race course went through downtown Providence, RI. Tall buildings apparently weren't an issue either.

My wife and her friend had iPhones. They both crapped out and stopped reporting data around mile 5.
