Anyone hit with the Throttle yet?

Just Seen Boost will Throttle Data over 2.5 GB in a month. Anyone been hit with this yet? Knew it was a matter of time Since Virgin was already doing it. So much for Unlimited 4G.

Boost announced their throttling at 2.5 gb a while back. I haven't been able to reach that limit yet... but I'm working on it.

If you tethered and have decent data speeds I can see going over. I regularly go over 350GB on my cable internet.

Since I quit tethering to my laptop, I doubt I even get close to a gig a month on my phone.

I used to tether to my PC.
Got wifi from my neighbour now. XD
But kd defenetly be reaching hi numbers..
But ONLY in the last month did I notice throttling..
Or maybe it was pda net closing the tethering on me. Cause I could still use web on mobile. XP

I just reboosted so im at 57.04 mb used just this morning.

But before i used data a lot and only got up to like 958 mb not even 1gb so i dont see speed throttlings in a road ahead of me

Considering I get worse speeds then their throttling speeds I am not worried I will ever hit the dang cap anyways using my phone.

there a throttle.zip floating around AF that disable this on stock based roms if you rooted. ctmod it's already disabled.

at least disable throttling done on phone end. don't fix them limiting amount of data sent to you just removes download limit on phone

Well, I moved to another place and had my phone downloading my TV shows and I never got throttled down. I hit around the 5gb mark and was still going strong.

I did notice that my speeds would hit 250kb/s during midnight hours, where as during the day it would be around 50-70kb/s. Talking about kilobytes not kilobits. In Kilobits it would be around the 2,000-2,500kbps mark.

I have the honeybread 2.3.7 GB ROM

There is also a thread that tells you how to disable it on stock Roms. That is also where you will find the link for the zip to remove the throttle. HoneyBread has the data throttle removed as well. The only Rom that still has the data throttle is Half-Assed 1&2. But I have removed the data throttle on the new FE16 update. I'm just waiting to see if Kouma is interested in including it or not.

throttling is done on the carrier's end, not through the OS of your phone. just like if comcast wanted to throttle your cable, they wouldn't need access to your computer, modem or router to do it.

there is some throttle shit built into android but it was put there by google, and I haven't heard of it actually being used by anything.

I have used more than 4 gig data downloads this month tethered to the laptop and aren't throttled so far. but in my area, speeds aren't that great anyway. Besides I thought the only ones who are going to be throttled are the 4g customers, down to 3g speeds. Although I may have read that wrong???

Is the prevail even capable of 4g ? to even be throttled down to 3g speed.

4g is a hardware thing. The prevail is incompatible

yep , i was just being a dork saying that. But still not throttled yet, and used over 4 gig again since 7/3. and I reread the fine print and it does say they will throttle 3G as well, if you use an ungodly amount of data, to "3g or slower speeds".

I thought the throttle wasn't kicking in until sometime this month. And it was my understanding that out was only 3G that was going to be throttled. WiMax/4G is unrestricted for now.

I was wondering why my phone constantly loses 3g when downloading torrents with my phone. I'm running 3.68 and love the speed it makes. My phone downloads movies faster than my laptop does.]

Question. Did they send out an email, text, or an official notice regarding throttling? I don't recall ever seeing anything about it.

Then again, even if they did, maybe it was during the tower upgrades, when the signals/service around here were garbage on many days.

Boost made an official announcement that all customer accounts would get throttled after 2.5G data.

I only bothered to read the first ten posts or so, but I haven't heard of Boost throttling 3G or lesser. I know from having their Design 4g, that they do throttle 4G data down to 3G speeds after hitting that 2.5 GB mark, but I haven't heard of them doing that with 3G phones.
