Root Anyone on Liquid GB 2.3?

Can you shoot that .07 radio over to me? If I install Liquid while on .12 (which is what I have now) will I still be able to just install the .07 radio zip later if the .12 isn't working for me?

Yup, just flash the zip in recovery and it will put you on the .07 radio. It takes a minute to install so don't be nervous if it seems like it's stuck. ;)

(Steven shakes his head and asks himself what has happened to himself. He no longer flashes everything that comes down the pike. I guess he's waiting for functionality?)

I know what you mean, but this thread caught my eye at a vulnerable time...I'm sorely tempted. Haven't gotten into the fray one way or the other with CM7 heard bits and pieces about good and bad. But this sounds intriguing...I wonder if I'll awake until 3 am getting my phone all sorted!

BTW, the linux cd to SBF back to .340 is brilliant. Love it and takes all the headaches out of trying to SBF on any other machine. I think I'm getting my cd out to try this...

I jumped in! Will report how I like it. I did revert the radio back to .07p as suggested which is good anyway because the .12 seems to be the cause of losing signal randomly which a lot of other DX users are experiencing. So thanks very much for that tip. Everything went smooth as silk, I just made sure that I cleared data/cache/dalvik between each major step. It's just something I got used to doing installing ROMs, seems to avert problems. Be aware, changing radios, you'll have to dial *228 and reprogram your phone or at least I did. No big deal just thought you'd like to know.

Thanks for giving me the push to try this one out!

Going back to Froyo/Darkslide 4.2 This rom was nice. Well designed layout, etc. But I just miss a couple of the blur widgets and blur camera and the battery life was not good.

I tried Liquid, but about 10-15 minutes after bootup, the screen wouldn't turn on. It would receive notifications (SMS, Gmail) and play the sound and flash the LED, but the screen simply would not turn on. After a battery pull, it would bootup and work fine for 10-15 minutes.

Anyone else seen this?

YES!!!!!! Thank you for posting. I thought I was the only one. I've tried reflashing a couple of times and it seems to work until I add my apps from TiBu. Then same thing...won't turn on w/o battery pull. Notifications get through but I tried calling my phone when it was in this state and NO CALLS come through. Not good. I posted the question of the rootwiki site which seems to be the official Liquid DX ROM thread but no reply as of yet. Don't know how much more time to invest in it. It IS really smooth and snappy but I can't risk my phone not turning on or calls coming through.

Having said the above, a fresh flash with data/dache/dalvik all wiped, still had the same problem so it might not be the issue of adding in my apps.

I've been on liquid 2.3 since it was released (less than a week?). I really like it. It is very similar to CM7 (not surprisingly) but with its own twists on customization. Right now, the battery seems better than CM7 was (#28 was the last one I flashed). I have been using the default launcher (which is launcherpro, BTW) and it absolutely flies. For smooth scrolling and quick response to user input, this is hands-down the best I have used.

I does have the same current limitations that CM7 has, but the fixes (camera, 1%, gapps, etc...) are included in the rom.

If you like CM7, this one is certainly worth a look!

I ended up going back to CM.

After reflashing 3,4,5 times (I lost count actually), it wouldn't even reboot so I just threw in the linux cd, did an SBF and went over to Apex 2. I had tried to install it one other time but had some problems (late night and all my fault) so I decided as I was flashing today anyway, I'd give it a try. Apex is unusual among ROMs in that you can actually turn the phone screen on! (just a joke, sorry).

Anyway, glad I didn't brick my phone since it wouldn't boot but with the factory reset and linux cd, you can get out of most jams. I might look at this one another time later but I'd definitely want the camera issue to be resolved as I love the camera on the DX.

How can I get this radio .07 since I'm planning to install this 2.4 version ROM now?
Does the 2.4 have this radio vs. the 2.3???

So, I've installed Liquid 2.4 and need help with the radio version .07 and how I can install the Swype Keyboard that I am so familiar with if someone can help with these.

The install went smooth just like the ROM.

TIA for the help with Radio and Swype...

I just PM'd you the link to the .07 radio. I don't use Swype myself but I've read that people sign up for the Beta on Swype's website but maybe there's a different way that someone could suggest.

Can you please PM me the .07 radio as well. I thought I had it but I do not. I'm on .12. Not sure if this is causing my battery drain but I may as well flash the radio and see if anything changes.

Other than that, I love Liquid's ROMs. I always ran his ROMs on my OG Droid. Good stuff!

I got the .07 radio...thanks.

As for the Swype, I have the APK and installed but force closes for some reason...any ideas about compatibility with Liquid ROM 2.4?

This ROM has been awesome for me, minus battery life. I need to start tweaking it some. I'm on 2.4 though.

I am having issues with the GPS function using this Liquid 2.4 ROM and need help with corrections as I travel daily and need the GPS features.

My GPS will not get accurate within 1000meters whereas before(on GB rooted) it always worked and locked on quick. And the ability to toggle the GPS on/off is "iffy".

I've tried to calibrate but cannot find the tool anywhere on Liquid ROM 2.4.

I just lashed to this ROM and then flashed the .07 radio soon after so I don't know if there is any impact due to the radio change from .12 to .07.

Any help is really appreciated as I cannot keep a ROM that does not have the basics of GB since all these features worked for me in GB but just full of bloatware and sluggish.
