Root AOKP 4.2 (jb-mr1) Discussion

Just flashed version 5-15. lag and delay are horrible. Not to mention that upon initial setup, as soon as I chose my system language (first screen), I got a message saying "unfortunately, system UI has stopped"

I've been getting terrible delay lately in 5/9

I'm going to flash something else.

I flashed it earlier today, haven't messed with it much but did not have a system UI error and lag and delay is better than the 05-09 nightly. That lag developed over time though, so we'll see how it goes after a couple days. Did do a dirty flash...

I noticed the same when I first downloaded it. I guess it's not in the nightly. I just use rom toolbox pro if I need to change cpu settings.

Personally I like setcpu you can find a free download for xda members on that forum. I usually set profiles for screen on, screen off

I've tried setcpu before and didn't see anything it does that rom toolbox pro doesn't. I like having all my root apps in one place through rom toolbox pro and i've got very comfortable with it over the year+ I've been using it.

Lol, no, mine keep popping out when I don't want them! Need to adjust the drag handle size... Maybe yours is too small?

Actually the problem I'm having is that the home screen scrolls instead of the right or left swipe ribbon popping out. I helped the problem by setting the handles to the top instead of center but it wasnt a perfect fix

What launcher are you using? You should be able to adjust the margins, not sure if that will help, mine are set to none.

wow thats really awesome, now cm needs their next new thing....

Why?

From the way I've always understood it... The CM team focuses more on device support. Basically, they look to get hardware issues as ironed out as possible. That's not to say that they don't add features in... But I don't think it's one of their primary concerns.

The rest of the features can usually be added in by Kangs... and everyone has their own opinion of what kang is better than another.

basically... If CM adds an insane amount of features, any kangs out there would need to remove the ones that they don't want before adding theirs back in. The more barebones CM stays... the better.

Nova Prime. Margins set to none

It's really a moot point now. I really have no need for ribbons in Nova. Using the scroll-able dock, I already have icons for every app, action, or shortcut I use placed on the dock.

I was just checking out the ribbons out of curiosity. Went back to Elemental X last night as my daily driver. I just like the look and feel a little more. Might give AOKP another try sometime later. Being new to flashing ROMs, I still have to try out Pac, Icy, and Chameleon. I'm really just kind of doing hit and runs on all of them right now.

TBH, if you're not looking for the PA features in PAC. You might as well stay with AOKP.

I like Pac, because I crank my resolution up. I like having more screen real estate.

I don't know if I'm looking for them or not... never seen/used. Gonna try all the ROMs at least once.

I've got a density changer patch for AOKP that is mostly waiting on a ui element in ROM control. It's not per app like pa but that's actually good... the ui remains consistent.

I've been running the patch for several weeks and I'd never go back. :D

I don't know if the patch will make it into ms2 because they are talking about releasing mr2 really soon. But it will get in soon I'm sure.
