Help AOL Instant Messenger Not working?!

Searched but didnt find anything related to this so here goes...

I have has AOL instant messenger installed for over a few months now on my 4G Evo and as of late it has not allowed me to log on at all and when I search for the app in the market or appbrain, its not there at all!

Is there something going on with AOL on this phone or do I need to get a hold of customer service to see whats wrong?

Appreciate the help in advance and I apologize if this has been asked and answered, like I stated before, I searched but nothing on this has come up!

did you do the gigngerbread 2.3.3 ota? if so it could be that the app is not compatible as of yet. a few apps are like that and they usually pull them off the market. i would contact cust. service and see what they say.

You know what, I had went thru that gingerbread thread several times and it never dawned on me this would be one of the apps as I did not see anyone post about it.

But thank you soo much as this may be the case and I will wait to wee if there is an update for it.

You could try another app that integrates AIM services. I was using one a few months back, what was it. Fring maybe? It had some pretty (imo) childish graphics, but it seemed to work fine when I used it.

Trillian is a good app for AIM and other IM services.
