Aosp 2.1 rom!

i thought i read a few people saying it wasnt working...good to know it is i just flashed this rom last night so i havent really messed with it much yet.

EDIT: i downloaded it last night.
 
Yeah, there was a new one that included the WiFi fix uploaded this morning. Also includes multi-touch if I'm not mistaken

what would i do to flash that wipe my sd card agina and just reflash it like before?

i have seen people talking about live wallpapers not working now...

mine are working soi dont know if i want to reflash
 
I would bet only a FEW of your live wallpapers are working.

They should still work as long as you don't flash Toast's kernel.

You shouldn't have to wipe, and should just be able to flash it right over

and for future reference, when you select "Wipe" in the recovery console, you're not wiping your SD card, just your settings & account info

i know i wipe my card from my pc...isnt that how im supposed to do it or is it not necessary?
 
it's not necessary to wipe your card, not by any means.

The only time you need to do that is when you're trying to enable Apps2SD, or when you've got an error with your card that requires you to wipe it

damn then i have been misinformed because i was told i should wipe my card before i flash..oh well i backed i up so its all good.

I've switched to this ROM, and so far it is great! I'm not having the annoying connectivity issues that I had with 1.6, and I can live without the camera and MMS (since I just use email for pics). It's a little slow, but the devs are hard at work to bring us a kernel that is even better than the Gumbo kernel, so fingers crossed!

Slow, Really?

Mine is pretty fast, not too much delay in anything.

Not to mention three and a half hours on, and still at 85% battery. I think I can live wit that :D

I still really miss that desk clock from 2.0.1. Any idea how to get it on here?
 
how is this 2.1 shaping up? for the general concensus do you guys like it better than fresh 1.1 with the ole gumbo kernal, baring the camera and mms which definetly isnt a necesity whats your guys opinion on it

I like it, but I haven't really dug into it too much to customize it. I don't like not having the bar at the bottom that includes the dialer, but that's part of using plain old android.

I also miss the desk clock from the 2.0.1 version, which I've said quite a few times before :p (sooner or later I'll have to figure out how to get it back lol)

It's nice, but I'm not sure it's quite ready for a full time ROM. I'm going to leave it unplugged all day and see what kind of battery life I've got at the end of the day. If I'm at 70% or more, I'll keep using it for certain. As long as I don't decide to make some changes to it and plug it in to run some commands, I'll have a valid test for myself lol.
 
Nice to see we've got more 2.1 ROMs coming out, I'd like to see whether anyone incorporates what Pete leaked into their ROMs, if it is in fact legit.
 
I'm running this now and I really like it but is there any way to get the Sense keyboard back? Or something similar?

did you read the first post of the thread on XDA that contains the ROM?

It says right on there that the live wallpapers don't work (at least not all of them), and if you flash the Toastcfh kernel, none of them work.

Might be a while before anyone gets the camera working on the 2.x ROM's. Hopefully not too long though.

Pretty much just cleaned this release up, made it easier to get everything working. Instead of having to flash two or three things, you've only got to do one, then re-root
