For anyone coming from liberty 1.5... fab tweeted before that a sbf was required before switching to this. I tested it without doing a sbf first and it worked fine. Wipe date / factory rest first then install apex 1.4 rc 2 and I had no issue.
Edit: remember to change your boot logo back to the stock moto one first though otherwise you'll be stuck with it saying "liberty"

Also running RC2 without sbfing, jus wiped Data and Cache. No problems.

I'm missing the rotary lockscreen from Liberty, but the battery performance is much better on Apex.

Where is the bootanimation.zip file on Apex? I want to change it, but it isn't in the Data/Local folder.

If you like the rotary lockscreen (like I do) just use WidgerLocker. I love it now... and Apex is awesome... I'm running RC2 over RC1 over 1.3.1 with no wipe and I'm having no FC or other issues.

Running RC2 without SBFing also and its pure Apex honey. Jjust wipe/factory reset and wipe cahe and installed away with no problems. Love the new Apex animation.

Everything seems to be working just fine...Temporary re-installing Liberty 1.5 now to swap out my boot animation. In my hurry to try this Apex 1.4 RC and forgot to change it back to moto.

Nevermind... I fixed it... had to enable the Blur Messaging in the toolbox before it would add the yahoo. In toolbox... option 1 (Customize Application)... then option 5 (Messaging)... then option 2...(Blur Messaging Suite)

Would you need to do this in order to set up exchange email?

Or you could just get the zip and flash it, then you can do a custom one that looks better than the Moto logo.

yeah but when he said he had to sbf because of the boot animation I changed it back to the moto one first just to be safe. I was trying to test it out for him to see if it could be done without having to sbf first thats all

Ok, boot animation working. I suspect something was modified by Liberty changing the M logo. May want to SBF if coming from Liberty.

@bigxie still recommending sbf first for apex 1.4 if coming from liberty?

@PHoldridge7232 can you try it without sbf for me? My system was pretty hosed to begin with when I made that comment so it may not be true.

but now we know all is well. I just didnt want anyone getting stuck with the liberty boot animation and not knowing how to get rid of it

I flashed over liberty 1.5 with apex 1.3.1 then apex 1.4 with no problems. I wiped cache/factory rested of course :-)
