Apex Vs Nova Launcher

Ive had Nova for sometime now and have had basically 0 issues with it.

Last night while browsing the market(yes ill continue to call it that). I came across apex.

Can anyone tell me the major differences between the 2?

I have used both. I prefer Nova launcher to Apex. I have had no problems with Nova launcher and I have used it for about a month now. Apex I tried for a week and it had some issues. It would restart and also would hesitate and redraw when I would go back to the home screen. Also when I would use folders it would lock up sometimes. There are a few more options on Apex but the hassles were not worth it to me. So I personally am sticking with Nova launcher.

Just for something to do I DL'd Apex and played around with it for awhile. It's very smooth. Well laid out. But really isn't that much different from Nova. I'll stick with Nova.

I have both and switch between the two just for fun. I really haven't noticed much difference between the two. I am currently using Apex as my default because I like that is has more options for customization and settings. In general, I would recommend either.

I have both. Was running Nova for a while then added Apex to compare. Apex has a few more options, but I have noticed redraws whereas I haven't really had that with Nova. Also, sometimes my dock icons get all puffed up and blurry like they had a shellfish allergy and went to shrimpfest. I have to restart Apex to get them back to normal. The only option apex has that Nova doesn't have (in the free version) is the option to hide apps in the drawer. That's a $4 option in Nova which is too pricey in my mind.

Lol!

I like Nova better because it is more stable and less buggy than Apex.

I have been running both. I installed Apex after the Android Central post last week. I too had the blurry dock icons. I realized it was because it was duplicating the icons. If you long press you can bring them back to the homescreen and once you get rid of all the duplicates, it will look right again. They released an update I think on Monday that purported to get rid of it, but by then I had switched back to Nova.

Apex has a few more options, but in my experience didn't run as smoothly. Sometimes homescreen switching was choppy. Same with the app drawer. I had to force stop the app to get it to run smoothly.

Nova has updated recently to add height margins for the homescreen (my only real complaint before) so when I saw that update I switched back with no regrets.

Take a spin and try them out. Apex is free so it gives you more options than the free Nova. If you spend $4 for Nova Prime, the differences come down to just a few features.

I've personally had some issues with Nova after the last 4-5 updates.
Major issue is that from time to time when I go to the home screen everything disappears from the screen. Sometimes after about 5 minutes the icons all come back. Sometimes its just stuck until I bring up ASTRO and restart nova.

Yes, this is what people are referring to as "redraw". I haven't really seen it since Nova went to 1.0 except maybe twice coming out of long periods of memory intensive apps.
