Whassssssup???

I am looking at apk manager 5.0 but i see that it has been depreciated in favor of apk multi tool (which is windows only). My question to you guys is what do you use to edit apks more specifically framework-res.apk?

I've used apk multi tool in windows. Nothing yet in Linux for me. In theory you should be able to compile from source in Linux without needing to decompile. I believe Hroark compiled CM7 and CM9's framework-res from source

Thanks

EDIT: Thats the thing dislike about ubuntu... you have to sudo everything and it cuts out the gui on installing things like apktool... to the terminal I go...

You don't need anything but a program to unzip files when you edit framework-res.apk unless you're messing with xml files.
I use apktool and the rom kitchen

i have been reading off and on over the past week or two..watching youtube videos etc..just trying to get used to the way things are setup..i havent had a whole lot of time to mess with my ubuntu setup yet..besides an hour or so every other night after work..Pretty much what i have is dual boot..ubuntu 11.10/windows 7...only because my daughters like to use the pc and and my 5 year old can navigate windows lol...anyway im pretty sure i need the drivers for the usb adapter inorder for ubuntu to see it..and im pretty sure i can get them from google...but i cannot access the internet so im kinda dumb founded...inless i stretch a cable like 70ft from my living room...oh yeah im using a Netgear WNDA3100...there is lots of stuff on google about this..but alot of it also seems to apply to older versions of ubuntu that look nothing like 11.10...i imagine that there kinda similar?

johnny424: Also, Ubuntu is pretty smart about finding drivers, if it finds something it needs "Proprietary" drivers for, you should get a notification up at the top for it. It should look mostly green and kinda like a circuit board IIRC

version 1 or version 2?? that card uses a atheros chipset which is the most compatible for linux..

i believe its v2..im using a Hp omni pro110 which doesnt have wifi..so i gotta use this wifi adapter but it gives me trouble from time to time..i read about netgear having something to do with broadcom..kinda confusing when your use to it setting it self up with windows

thats whats strange..sense i installed ubuntu i havent changed or altered anything..ive just been exploring everything trying to become fimiliar with everything...i get not notifacations at anytime..if i unplug the adapter and replug nothing happens..when i checked that folder for proprietary drivers it was empty..kinda confusing

Code:
ifconfig -l

will list all available interfaces on connected to the computer... you should see one as eth0 and another on that is your netgear.

there are two

eth0 with some text next to it...below that is lo with text next to that
