Help apn help ( i think) :L

i recently updated my phone to cyanogenmod 7 and all is good until i go to use data over 2g\3g. It wont connect so i entered an apn code for my o2 pay and go sim, which it didnt then save and when i try to choose to select my network it comes up with an error
any help at all would be much appreciated as im sure im not the only one with a problem like this

usually im rather good with this sorta stuff
but this has really stumped me
