Root APN Issues? (Virgin Mobile US, CM7.2.0)

Hey, all,

Yesterday, I installed CyanogenMod 7 onto my Motorola Triumph with Virgin Mobile. Since then, I've been really happy about it -- with one catch. My 3G isn't working, so I can't surf the web or send MMS. SMS and phone calls work fine, and I can do stuff via wifi. I think the problem has something to do with the APN, but whenever I change the settings and save the APN, it disappears from the list. I've also flashed the rom again, repaired permissions several times, cleaned my cache, et cetera, but to no avail.

So, a few questions:
1) What are the correct APN settings? I've found (incomplete) settings posted various places online, including these forums, but can't seem to get those working.

2) Is this something other than the APN? If so, what could it be?

I'm happy with CM7 thus far and would really rather not go back to stock, but not having 3g is obviously not really an option.

Thanks in advance!

Then something is wrong do the 3 wipes before install data factory wipe, dalvik cache in advanced, & format the system in mounts & storage then flash rom then gapps

Done. Didn't work. I'm going to wipe everything and try installing the one linked here instead to see if it was something that happened between 7.1.0 and 7.2.0 that caused things not to work.

Edit: Installed that one and MIUI. I'm following the given directions (wiping all the things it says to wipe, flashing what it says to flash) every time, so I'm not sure why it's still working. I think I'm going to try to revert to stock to make sure that my phone isn't actually broken somehow before I spend any more time trying to get other roms to work.

Did you mess with the APN (or use any apps that might do that) before this happened?

No, I hadn't. The data wasn't giving me any problems (past the usual annoyances) before I started messing around with rooting and roms and such. BUT I did manage to get everything sorted.

What worked for me:

1. Go back to stock Android, as described here.
2. Activate my (already-activated) phone again.
3. Install the rom of my choice.

Thanks for your help, everyone!

EDIT: glad you were able to work it out:-)

First thing I would do is restore my nandroid backup (you did make one, right) and see if the problem goes away. The APN settings are kept on the phone side of the Triumph. That's why most people don't have an issue. If something messed up those settings, you would most likely need to restore and have Virgin Mobile fix it for you anyway. Last I heard, it wasn't possible to do it under a non stock ROM, but I do remember seeing some posts on changing the PRL (which is in the phone part also) under CM7.
Just to be clear, thing of your phone like a computer. There's a BIOS, a hard drive, and other components. Each with their own firmware and other kind of software. So when I say phone part, understand that I don't mean something you have normal access to.
