Help App exits on screen timeout

If anyone can help with this I would really appreciate it. I have been searching my settings and google for hours....

When my screen times out and I turn it back on it goes into the home screen instead of the app I was just on. This is really annoying when I am in the middle of reading a webpage or on google reader. It only seems to do it on a few apps: Chrome, Google Reader, Settings, Facebook.

Other apps like: Yelp, Gallery, camera and a few others have default behavior and are still running when the screen times out.

I've searched other forums and cant seem to find the solution.

Here is what I am running:
AOKP JB Milestone 1 - Been doing this since well before I upgraded to MS1
Lean Kernel
Nova Launcher
 
Make sure that you dont have the phone set to close out all tasks as you exit them.

Go into settings/developer options and scroll all the way down and make sure "Dont keep activities" is NOT checked.

Might fix it might not. Worth a shot.
 
Are you by chance using Widget Locker? There's a setting in Advanced to "Always unlock to Home". If you're running this app, uncheck that setting.

It is currently unchecked.

This one was interesting. I used to use widget locker and stopped using it a few months ago. I like the AOKP lock screen now. After you commented, I installed it again. Opened up chrome, let the screen timeout, turned it back on and Chrome is still open.

I uninstalled Widget Locker but Chrome (and others) closes out on screen time out still.

So it only seems to do it with the stock lock screen. Very very weird. Any thing else I can be missing??

Very odd indeed. Have you tried using TiBu to freeze all of your user apps (just your personal apps from the Play store) to rule out one of them being wonky (wonky lol.. love that word!)?

Are you by chance using AOKP Backup from the Play store? I'm seeing others with weird happenings after they've restored from backup with this latest AOKP Backup release and Milestone 1.

YOU ARE A GENIUS!!!

I froze every app except for chrome and it worked.

The culprit was App Protector Pro. This was why it was doing it only to some apps, I dont lock my phone instead I just lock individual apps like Chrome, Facebook etc. so friends dont post dumb shit on my page. Thats why it was only doing it to those apps!

There is a setting in there to lock again after screen time out. Instead of locking, it exits the app.
