App Market update automatically?

Was wondering what the consensus was regarding letting the app market do automatic updates. Reason I ask is because I get so many notifications to update different apps and some seem to be repetitive. How often do these things get updated anyway? I wouldn't think every couple of days. Does it use anymore battery to be polling between the device and app market? What do you all do? Just set it to auto and let 'er rip?

I read the comments to see if the latest update screwed the app up before I update it. Happens a fair amount of the time.

I turn auto update on for every app. never had a problem.
