Anyone know of an app like nook color tweaks that lets me edit the individual steppings? (the Mhz slots that it uses for scaling)
I'm trying to reduce the number of steps to run some tests. The plague kernel's are overclocked but have a ton of different voltages it steps through. I'm trying to set only the following:
245Mhz
750Mhz
1.2Ghz
Why? because your cpu speed constantly changes up and down, but I want it to go really far down fast, instead of gradually so it saves battery. That's the test at least. It seems to work very well for my nook color.
It'll be something like this:
Under heavy to moderate load: 750mhz or 1.2Ghz, then scaling 245Mhz for the rest of the time, rather than splitting time with every frequency between 1.2 -> 245Mhz. If you use cpu tuner you can see how long each frequency is used for, and you can see it's either at the fastest speed, or evenly divided on the way down when performance wise it doesn't really make a difference in tests i've done so far on the nook. The goal is to make it use 245Mhz as much as possible unless 1.2 is really needed.
