App to display network files

Are there any Android apps that display files on a LAN? I'd like to access multimedia files on my home network with my WI-FI connection.

I use ES File Explorer too and I strongly recommend it. IMO its a beautiful, intuitive and powerful app.

In my experience you don't need to do anything special to access disks on other PC's other than click the search button (within the ES File app) which scans for those other PCs.

You can find that button by:

- clicking local/lan popup (at the upper left of the screen)
- click LAN (from the popup men)
- click search (on the window toolbar )

I didn't need to set my PC up as a server for this to work, (but I suppose its possible that it had been set up that way from some other PC app in the past).

The above app will allow you to see all devices on the network and their IP address.

If you are logging onto a Windows 7/8 box over the network and need to use your username/password, rather than disabling it (HUGE security implications there), type it in like the following:

User Name: .\UserName
Password: TypeInAsNormal

The .\ will tell Windows 7/8 that you are using a local account and not a network account.

Oh yeah, as the ES File Explorer, I agree with the above posters. :D

Nope that helps.
