App updates fail with Package File Is Invalid error

I'm not updating. g+ works fine as is. At least I have that choice now.

FYI LCARS (and Win8) has many color themes. I got my Win8 laptop, used specifically for games, on earth tones of brown and green, but usually leave desktop mode on. Google Play won't even let me change the colors. Why have a 300ppi screen if the UI looks like a CGA monitor or Windows 3.1.

Well the g+ update apk i posted gave me a bug where it would force close when i tap on a pic or vid so i rolled back but Play is offering me an official update now. Ill wait til theres more reviews before updating

After seeing the pics I won't update until Google starts making things look high tech, not throwbacks to the CGA era from the 1980s. Is Google trying to revive WebOS? Do they have some rights to it?

But the use of white and oversized cards is exactly like the new Play Store and other apps. My gripes over the Google UI goes beyond their use of pastels.

In a way, maybe. But my G+ app doesn't co e off looking so huge that it would pass for the visually impaired. Perhaps I prefer my ten inches of HD screen being used wisely, not taken up by huge cards and resolution from the early days of computers.

It's only really Google's choice of colours your objecting to isn't it? "pastel shades" as you call it. Screen resolution doesn't really have any bearing on the colour scheme of a UI.

If you watch many episodes of Star Trek (Next Generation onwards) they usually stick to this pallet for LCARS screens and devices.

Two of those colours look like cyan and magenta. Which where two of the four colours of CGA.

LCARS is one of the things that makes the TV series and movies identifiable as Star Trek, and not say Battlestar Galactica or Star Wars or Windows 8 or Google. It's a form of branding. And CBS does assert their copyright on it as well. They've even issued DMCA takedowns against some Android apps that look like LCARS. There was one called "Tricorder", and Google took it down twice.

I'm a Star Trek junky and geek as well, always have been. :)

Lol since we're on a startrek trip (and im not a huge treky, my fav version is Voyager, ive seen all of them and most of Next Gen) but.... these computers use fiber optics instead of electrical circuits dont they? Why do they explode lol??? AND.. the ship can accellerate from 0 to the speed of light in an instant which would mean the walls would SLAM through the humans so it uses "dampers" or something to prevent that so WHY, when the ship gets shot by something dont the dampers stop them from falling on their ass?

P.s. i remember the Tricorder app lol. Geek heaven :D

Computers always exploded like they were filled with firecrackers, and not fibre optics or "bio-neural gel packs".

Why do non of the ships or space stations or other installations ever appear to have a restroom? Or do they solve that issue in the 23rd and 24th century? Why didn't anyone wearing a red shirt ever refuse to be transported down to a planet?

The inertial dampeners often go offline during a battle scene, and actors even say so just before they all go flying about the ship. A better question is why does the ship take damage long before the shields drop?

In Voyager, it was the gold shirts who were expendable. Here's another mystery. Why even have a warp core ejection sequence when it conveniently goes offline when it is needed most? The few times the core successfully ejected were during non-critical scenes

Haha true.. surely something as dangerous as a warp core would have an offline failsafe ejection system that couldnt be damaged.
Its crazy how we pick holes in startrek even though its about the most "realistic" future space scifi there is :D
We dont question why most aliens are humanoid and the translator works in an uncharted quadrant of the galaxy though :D
