But would like to correct some f it ...
Well for development,
Android apps are developed in Java but "Having a knowledge of it " is not necessary :)

You just need to know
1.) software development Life cycle
2.) Object Oriented Programming ( We call it OOPS :) )
3.) knowledge of least C ( And/Or C++ ) [ for a lit bit of application ... ]

It is a vast new concept !
You can have a look at the market available books :)
there r many out there !
I will suggest the one from O'Really publications { I used it ! its gr8 !}
 
thanks alot guys u all rock yaar well I have knowledge abt java lil bit nt master in it but wanna make app of mah own...so thought of how to start off with... pls tell me after installing android sdk what packages should I install?? n how to start n frm were??
 
guys i have strucked up pls help when i try to install 2.2 or any packages it shows error File not found: D:\Program Files\Android\android-sdk\temp\android-2.2_r03-linux.zip (Access is denied) pls help to resolve n gve me simple tutorial pls to make an application.. help me friends please..
 
what OS are you using?
Try running the SDK manager as administrator.

And you'll have to configure your SDK and IDE first if you're considering serious development
 
yeah i have developed hello android app finally... but that was jst an exampe format that how to create. can any one give me the links from which by seeing the codings and all i can create an app that will any game or players or anything except hello android type? it will be vry usefull in learning.. app building... thanks in advance... pls help
 
My conclusion:
You just want sources of apps, put it there and call it an app you created?
That's how not stuff works.

You need to be dedicated to development if you really want to do it....
It's not a one day job or a two day job..
It takes time, be patient.

And there's google for all your answers.
 
actually dude I knw wat u say... in mah college der is an competition regarding app building...so wanted hlp frm u Guys.. so pls cud gve me sme sources I knw it's not 1 r 2 day job but still pls..
 
I suggest you to go to developer.android.com, and start reading everything from starting..... There's no better guide than that for android app development.....;)
