Root Apps are incompatible after installing CM7

After I installed CM7 on my phone every app that I go to download says that my phone is incompatible. For example, Facebook Messenger was working fine before I installed CM7 but after it gave me an error message. So I uninstalled it and tried to download it from the market but it said my phone was incompatible. So far I haven't some across a compatible app. Can anyone help me?

This doesn't sound normal. Did you flash gapps.zip right after flashing the CM7 ROM? (You need to do this before booting into the ROM for the first time, otherwise re-wipe and reflash the ROM & gapps.zip).

I didn't. I flashed it a while after I booted >_< I'll try that later on tonight. Thank you.

well I reinstalled CM7 then flashed gapps before booting and I don't know if it helped. I'm not sure since I was using the market from my browser because my data connection sucked so bad I couldn't use the market app. so I don't know really know if the market app had the same problem. recently though I've been using wifi and the market app works great. when using my browser it still says apps are incompatible.

you ABSOLUTELY have to flash the gapps.zip file after you flash cm7 itself.

and not, reboot and flash it later.

I mean, like, the very second after CM7 is done flashing, you go select the gapps.zip file and flash that. THEN reboot.

thats the ONLY way to make sure the google android market works correctly, without it, WEIRD things happen, like whats happening to you.

if you do this in the wrong order (like you did it seems, from the above post) then you get the exact problems your having and more.

cm7 does not make apps incompatible if you install it correctly, your supposed to be able to install apps normally like on the stock rom.

yup, I did that and it works now =] When I was reading the guide I kind of skipped the gapps part XD lol

Glad to see you got your problem fixed, great helpful community here. I am going to move this thread to the all things root section now that your question has been answered.
