Help Apps not synchronizing

Raindash

Lurker
Since 23February none of my apps have synchronized.
I'm talking about apps like:
-google apps (play, calendar, mail)
-twitter
-facebook
-...

I can't get them to synchronize I tried to clear their cache and re installing them but none of those methods solved my problem

Welcome to AF Raindash!!

Make sure that in settings-->accounts & sync 'background data' and 'auto sync' are ticked. Otherwise your apps will not update

Both are ticked and always have been,
I've tried unticking them and then reticking them as well but that didn't work either.

EDIT: thanks btw for the welcome :)

:):)

Hmmm I see....In the manage accounts ( just below) in the right side of each app, are the little round logos green or grey?

green for those I would like to synch
but if I press on one of them for example on google
My 4 google related apps are all ticked but they all say thu, 22 feb I assume that's the last time they got synchronized

pressing synch now does not do a single thing

Right...What about memory? How much internal memory do you have left? Some apps will not function if you have less than 20mb of free internal memory...

edit: is your phone rooted?

I have 259mb memory free to use 136 in use

not rooted although I'm heavily considering it
offtopic:I noticed you had cm7.1, does it work good on the wfs?

Running out of ideas here...Really not sure why it's not working. I'm guessing you also tried to reboot it? How about removing your google account and adding it again (If you try this, make sure you do a back up first. Not sure if some data will get lost or not as I have never tried it)

The official cyanogen does actually not work great with Wildfire S as it is not supported. So I am currently using Alquez's unofficial Cyanogen which works perfect!! However it is right now only compatible with Marvel phones and not MarvelC phones. At the moment there is no CM which is 100% stable for MarvelC but it seems they are working on it. :)

It's not only the google account though, also twitter and facebook have the problem

I'm not sure what you mean with Marvel/MarvelC

When you boot into bootloader does it show Marvel or MarvelC? Asked another way, does it use a SIM card (Marvel) or not (MarvelC)?

As Caro says above, there is no official CM7 ROM for the Wildfire S. The Marvel version is totally functional with the occasional bug. The MarvelC version is not completely functional and has lots of bugs.

Marvel are GSM phones (With SIM) and MarvelC are CDMA (Without SIM)

Edit: Cafekampuchia, any idea why his apps are not syncing?

I'm using a sim card, to go into the bootloader I need to unlock my phone first I guess,
probably should just root it as I'm annoyed by the limited space to install apps (or doesn't cm change a lot to that?)

I'll give you both a thanks so far as I'm rather new to rooting and you are both trying to help me :)

Thanks!! :thumb:

Oh and by the way you don't need to unlock your phone to go to the bootloader. Just switch off your phone, take your battery out and put it back in. Then press the volume down and power button at the same time.
That will get you into the bootloader.
Use volume keys to navigate and press the power button to select

Just found it out on my own :D thanks anyway

EDIT/ so I have marvel pvt ship s-on rl
guess I'm just gonna follow cafe's guide for s-on phones
