Root Apps on apps2sd when 2.1 comes..?

Just wondering, what are you guys going to do when the 2.1 update comes? I'm really looking forward to it but now I'm wondering what to do about my apps. Can't just backup and restore them after the update because I use apps2sd. So I guess we'll be stuck with the tiny amount of space on the phone again, so does that mean I'll just have to choose which apps to reinstall and make do with far less than I have now?

Maybe would be better just to wait for a 2.1 version of MoDaCo to come out before updating?
 
Paul (from modaco) has advised people to not try the official 2.1 release, as it could well mess up current methods for rooting/flashing.
 
Just a FYI.... Paul's already got a Desire ROM rooted and running on the Nexus One. That would suggest that MCR 4.0 will very likely appear before HTC get their official 2.1 update out of the door. :D
