Root Apps Safe to Remove after Root

MykeHawke

Newbie
I wanted to start this thread to compile a list of stock apps that are safe to remove after root. I bricked my previous phone about 2 hours after I got it (LG Venice) because I deleted Google Books / Google Music which is completely stupid, but now I've learned my lesson with LGs locked bootloader.

If anyone wants to post apps they've removed I'll try and keep this initial post up to date.

Stock browser
Weather app
All the boost apps
Sprint id
Default launcher
Default file browser
All Google apps like Google+
Most of the live wallpapers

Remember folks. Do not uninstall any apps that require root level. If LG actually decided to update our phones. You would not be able to update if you have uninstalled a system app. Even if you reinstall it.

This was my case with my Galaxy Prevail and Galaxy Rush. I have a feeling the same logic applies to our phones.

Use an app like app quarantine or titanium back to freeze or disable apps. Do not uninstall.

That applies to everyphone! That's why we all make backups of stock and if we should ever forget to do that, Just like how you can use Odin to return to complete stock to update phones? Same applies for lg phones with LGS own tool.
