is there a site to down load the root program?

Thanks!!

Here is a link that tells you exactly how to root: http://androidforums.com/optimus-v-...-how-simplified-root-recovery-custom-rom.html. Follow the instructions to the letter and you should be able to successfully root your rom.

And here is a list of apps that come with the Optimus V that are safe to remove. http://androidforums.com/optimus-v-all-things-root/307617-list-bloatware-lg-optimus-v.html

Once you are rooted, get Titanium Backup from the Market. You can uninstall the bloatware/apps you do not want with it.

It is also important to install a custom recovery so you can make a backup of your system(this is called a nandroid backup) in the recovery in case you delete something that makes your system crash, freeze, or have force close problems. This will allow you to restore your system to what it was before you messed up. Also, once you root your phone you must never use the factory reset in the privacy setting in the phones menu or it will brick you "V".

That is only if you change the custom recovery correct? I am running rooted stock do I have to worry about it?

If your rooted and delete or add something that makes your system freeze,go into a boot loop,or have force close problems, how would you be able to straightened it all out?
