i dun understand wut u r sayingYou seem to have quite a few problems that others don't tend to have. I would seriously consider trying a factory reset and, if that fails, having it swapped for a new device.
Automatic updates work for me.. I thought my phone had a problem in that it was failing to report updates for apps I know are updates several times a week, but when I checked out the market I realised I had auto updating enabled for them and they had gone up several versions since I last checked.
I don't really want auto updating on as I prefer to update over wifi when I get in!
then it should say update(manual) when u go into market appIf an app changes it's permissions then it will switch off auto update until you manually download the update. This is not occurring is it?
i dun understand wut u r saying
did u return ur phone when u had apps that didn't auto update?Mattye is saying that he thought apps weren't updating, when in fact they were doing so automatically with such stealth that he didn't notice.
I don't know what other advice anyone can offer you. Everything suggested hasn't worked, So really all that's left is either a factory reset to flush any corrupted data away and start afresh, or return it for exchange/repair as defective.
i don't have a lot of trouble, i just repeat my problems once in a while because i wasnt' getting any help, so it seems like i have a lot of problemsSlug is advising this to you as you seem to be having so much trouble with your handset, and not just on the grounds that your market apps are not automatically updating themselves
If you go into one of your apps in the market are you sure it has "allow automatic updating" ticked
so u do have 3g on all dayits worth a try certainly.
i never turn off data or wifi, but i have a wifi sleep policy set.
I can sometimes get 3 or 4 updates to apps spread throughout the day. I would think its more of a matter of when the developer puts a new version on the market rather than the market broadcasting updates at set times
replacement won't matter as this is clearly a software issueLike I said, factory reset or try for replacement.
replacement won't matter as this is clearly a software issue
how do u explain when it auto updates in the old market not the new market?
well i have done everything except a factory reset, which i doubt will workDoh!
do u know wut could have caused this? i'm stock 2.3.4I was referring to slug's request actually.
Looks like you'll have to put up with updating manually
i only have 18 apps total on my phone, and most of them are stock apps like maps and google search and youtube. i have maybe 10 apps i downloaded on my own. and yes i allow every app to auto update and none of them would. i think only the stock apps will auto updateDo you have all apps on auto update or just a few?
If only a few how do you know for sure they have not actually updated?
Personally I never set any app to auto update so I can't really advise, only to explain my reasoning.
I prefer to manually update and wait for the notification to come through first. This way I can read up on what the changes are before I decide to update them.
i think only the stock apps will auto update
