I'm using Nexus 5 with Android 6.0.1
Recently the photo app was taking very dark photos, so that I had to edit them and apply the 'automatic' filter to make them has they should.
I was about to blame hardware issue, when I just thought about un-installing all updates to 'photos' and then re-installed... and the issue is fixed
