Are you going to get the HTC M8 -Specs, carrier, discussion, and $$$DEALS$$$

I'm sure it will get the next version of Android. We'll have to wait for that to come out though.

I read somewhere that htc is promising at least 2 years of timely updates. Cannot remember where I saw it but I don't see why they wouldn't update it.

I have a feeling that the M8 will see lots of attention. It's HTC's flagship for 2014 Just like the One for 2013. They are striving to keep their share of the market and if not... to increase it. I think they will be all over taking care that they are creating and keeping their customers. Updates.. support... I think this phone will be on top of their list.

Going from an EVO4g to an iphone 5. I'm excited to go back to HTC with this. I hope the camera is sufficient, this iphone does spoil you on that department.

I like my HTC One now and nothing wrong with it.

Now I feel I need something bigger. I want a removable battery also. I like the idea of s-pen.

I am going to get the Note 4 in Oct. It will be my first ever Samsung phone.

With the metal body dose not look like it will have wireless charging built in. The DNA has me spoiled there. If I wanted a phone that I have to fuss with a cable I'd go back to a landline as primary. So likely passing on this one too. May have to abandon HTC for 2015 if they stay with old tech.

I read somewhere that the M8 was rumored to be capable of inductive charging. I'm like you in that I don't see how that's possible. Not a deal breaker for me but I was pretty spoiled to wireless charging with my Rezound. It quit working about a month back so I've adapted. Not the end of the world. I do like wireless though.

Yea I have just been spoiled by the DNA. A year and a half and no issues with wireless charging at all. Love it.

Going back to having to mess with using a cord to charge would be like going back to a corded home phone. Going backwards in my humble opinion.

I look forward to the day they charge via energy from the air. I know they are working on such tech. That would be awesome not to even have to worry about it. ;)

I've had 5 HTC phone's in succession, currently have a One. I'm not a fan of Samsung due to the build quality and feel of their S devices. So for me it's either the new One or Sony Z2. Either way it will be a sim free device. One reservation I have about going with Sony is they're not the quickest at updating to the latest software, esp with the device being sim free I'd want the latest updates asap. Both have a SD card slot which is good. Wireless charging would probably sway my if one or both are capable of it...

I have no idea what's gone South with my inductive charging. The first problem I had was noticed after the the major OTA the Rezound got. From that point on, it would not charge via the usb / data charge cable unless you removed the back. Being as it was a rare time that I needed to bump charge from my truck.. it wasn't a big deal. Then one day about two months ago it just quit charging. I replaced the battery but that didn't fix a thing. I took the back off and tried charging with the cable and it charged.. no problem. I then tried the wireless again but it just wouldn't charge. The phone was hot and if anything it drained instead of charging. Cleaned all connections between back and phone.. nothing worked. Perhaps a factory reset would fix it. I'm ready for a new phone. If I'm going to hassle with setting up my phone again, it's going to be the M8 :)

I saw the Sony phone. It is a shiny reflective plastic? phone. A fingerprint magnet.

man whatevs, the MAX is hard to beat. the huge screen is a winner for me. I cant go back to a smaller device, and i am just as much a cutting edge/early adopter as you cats.

im just spoiled by the huge screen...

Maybe I need to check out those bigger screens. Past 6 months or so I have to use my reading glasses to make out some stuff I read. And if I make the text size bigger it just looks goofy to me.

Looks like a few options over the next couple months. So we shall see.

They're not that bad actually, the Z1, Compact & Ultra are getting KitKat at the moment and their older handsets are set to get it soon.

It's glass and aluminium I think.

I'd seen today that the new One actually has a 5.2" screen as opposed to the rumoured 5.0" screen....

As long as it's at least five inch I'll be happy. More is better! Just five days until we know for sure. I hope the release is right behind it's announcement.

With the new leak of a case showing up to Verizon stores today, looks as though Verizon could grab this phone on March 25th. That would be unheard for Verizon, and I hope they do. I wouldn't mind picking this phone up.
