Are you planning on buying the Incredible HD/Vigor/Rezound?

I thought the exact same thing (not this quote but the post before when you said "4.3 is too big"). I had the DINC since launch and when i bought the T-bolt i was afraid of the size. Now my t-bolt is almost too small. I can't even hold a DINC anymore. I gave it to my friend and everytime i take it i can't beleive i used something that small.

Trust me!!! the 4.3 is perfect size. you will never go back once you get used to it. and it only takes 2 days to get used to. anything bigger is not good though (G-Nex). 4.3 is perfect....... Again, i was exactly like you before i got it.

I plan to go down to the local store and check it out when it comes out. I want to find out though... You have 2 weeks to return it from what I understand. IF I decided I wanted to try it out, I would have to cash in my upgrade to get it, with a new 2 year contract. If I decided I did not want to go with that phone am I still locked into a 2 year contract, but I just now get to pick yet a different phone. Or can I go back to my Inc and still still have my upgrade and not be under contract?

What are the chances the Rezound will be released with ICS?

Leaning very heavily toward this phone at the moment...
Me to but no ICS at launch...
Very very slim. HTC had released their statement that they were looking at ICS to see how it would integrate with Sense. So unless the release date gets pushed back a lot, the Vigor (sorry - I just can't call it that other name) probably won't see it until sometime in 2012.
All of this is MY OPINION - I in no way have any real knowledge of this. :)
I'll see your very slim and raise you a NO CHANCE IN HELL!! LOL
Unless they push the phone all the way back to like march/April that is(which i hope to god they dont)

Lets not forget that honeycomb was supposed to be the end of custom, UI's altogether... and ICS is HC and phone OS combined... that doesn't bode well for the current iteration of Sense...
From reading these post the Dinc seems to be a very popular phone.

The Inc is perhaps the best Android phone to date (dont tell the evo people i said that;))

If it's your last upgrade that's grandfathered (like NE2 or annual upgrade) after you use it, it's gone. So if you take it back and wait for something else, you'll no longer get the discount. But if you swap to another when you return the first that's fine.

If it's just an upgrade after 2 years, with no NE2, you can return it and either swap to another or go back to your old one until something else comes along. If you decide to wait the 2 year pricing will still be there for you.

Keep in mind that if you return it you'll be subject a $35 restocking fee.

As far as the 2 year contract, if you keep either the first or second phone when upgrading, you're now on a 2 year contract. If you return the first phone and go back to your old phone you're back on your old contract. You cannot however if you're on your second phone. Once you return one and go right to another, that's your phone and you're locked into a 2 year contract.

i couldednt have said that better

and ways they must chop down sence with ICS because the UI is not need overtop of ICS and that is if google lets HTC hae a custom overlay on the phone with ICS

Oh Ok; can you keep them separate instead of lumping everything in one? Makes it harder to track things.

Just trying to keep these threads on topic.. Way I see it (and trust me, I'm not always right) this thread is just a "are you gonna get this phone" thread, the other one is where all the actual discussion belongs... Just my take on it though

i'm a nobody, but was hoping to see the reasoning for why people would or would not be buying it in here which would entail a little discussion.

I.don't think I will be buying this as it looks very much like my current phone, the Incredible. Although it has been a good device I think I'd like some different styling.

+1 but the updated Thunderbolt for me

I was all gung-ho about the Rezound, but then HTC got their stuff together with the most recent Gingerbread update; making the phone actually good... And now OS wise my TBolt resembles the Rezound a little too much and is making me question a purchase... someone PLEASE talk me back into buying the Rezound

Wait a month and see how the reviews are.

Ya I think that is what I am going to do... I really want the Rezound to be what the DInc was and is to cell phone industry, but I do not think it will be

Honestly I doubt any phone will be. I mean not anymore. It seems like that period in smartphone history has passed. Until these companies stop releasing new phones every 3 months it's hard to get that kind of lasting power and attachment to a device since so many people want to stay on the cutting edge.

The other reason why the Incredible was such a big deal is look at what was around at the time it launched. On Verizon there was the Droid and the Eris. Sprint had the Hero, T-Mobile had the G1 and the MyTouch3G, and AT&T had the Cliq. All of the carriers had an assortment of Blackberry and WinMo phones, and AT&T had the iphone 3GS. There really wasn't much in it's way (or in the EVO's way either since they launched about a month apart).

Until the next big thing comes (totally new OS that's really jaw dropping) I don't think we'll see this again.

It reminds me a bit of the early days of the PC. It was a race to bring the consumer something faster with more ease of use. I sometimes think they staged the upgrades to maximize their profits. I don't think we'll see another Incredible. Greed will drive the industry to milk us for all we are worth. I look for updates to be fairly constant until the next "must have" device hits the market. It's hard to imagine something that will upstage the do all personal smart phone.

I just want an android phone that has a track ball or track pad, that would revolutionary enough for me... I am probably in the minority, but I soo miss my Eris' light up track ball for fine tuning messages and what not... BRING IT BACK HTC :(

You know, I have a trackball on my Incredible and I don't remember using it. I guess I won't miss it.

I rarely used mine on my Eris or my Incredible as well but when I did it was so helpful (selecting text on webpage and modifying text messages)... but like I said I am probably in the minority of wanting a track ball/pad :D

Sorry I did not mean to get us off topic with my nostalgia lol

I'm not 100% sure I'm going to get the Rezound. It is quite tempting, I have an annual upgrade available on my plan. Does that qualify for the 299 price?

Anyway the X was my first smartphone, and it's been a good phone. I've been really happy with it. Just lately it's been rebooting and just turning off at random times. And it's gotten really laggy. So i think its time for for a new phone. And the Rezound sounds like a good phone to check out.

I will be leaving a DX for either the ReZound or the G Nex. I'm leaning more toward the ReZound at the moment.

I'm waiting on real world user reviews for each device.

Is the need for a trackball a deal breaker? Probably not. I want the charging port to be on the bottom of the rezound but it looks to be on the side like my Dinc. Not a deal breaker either but my preference. I'll still be buying the rezound unless the hands on experience is negative. I'll know Monday :)
