Aro Beta

Has anyone heard of the PIM/Communication client, Aro? I got into the beta yesterday.
I must say, it is AMAZING. you can check it out at Aro | Your Mobile Life, Better

i wont even use touchdown anymore.

the way it brings together all contacts from my gmail and corporate global address book is amazing. it has a live wallpaper that streams emails and texts, and it has some of the most amazing features ever. i suggest anyone who emails a lot, try to get into the beta. it has honestly changed the way i look at this phone. it just became worth twice as much to me, and that's no exaggeration.

this is a pic of my homescreen. the four green buttons are one widget. it has its own dialer, email inbox, calendar, and text box. above that is the scrolling live wallpaper (didnt diminish battery at all). you can double tap the message to see it larger (and you can copy and paste right from the main screen). btw, i dont know why the screencap got all screwed up thru the clock/weather widget.

so, this is hard to explain, but when you get an email with someones' name in it, you can double tap that name, and it brings up these options. it even works if the name isnt in your contacts, but is in the global address book. it's too awesome to even explain.

btw, the mustaches are to block out the names (cause i would rather not have anyone at my company know who i am).

here is a good story about Aro... The link can be found after the story.

Have you ever got an email from someone on your Android phone, scrolled down to the signature at the bottom to get their number and then copied and pasted said number into your address book? I have. Many times.

Though this is certainly better than having to manually write the number down and enter it into your contacts, it feels about as old fashioned as having to do that. It

Nice review... you forgot to block out an email address, though. Might want to take care of that. Second screenshot.

edit: and you might want to block your city, too, if you want to be thorough.

thanks for the heads up BV. i'm not too worried about the city. i dont leak important info here, so even if i was found out, i wouldnt be in any trouble. and being a regional director, they trust my judgement, provided i'm not running around talking about anything big upcoming.

It is a pretty nice program. I have been part of the beta test for about 2 months now. They do have an issue getting the Aro calendar to sync with Google calendar. It only shows about 1 months of appointments/events. The stock droid calendar does show everything from Google calendar. They are aware of this problem as a number of people have repoeted it, but they haven't found a solution yet. I guess that is what beta testing is all about.

yep. for how much this thing does, for that to be the only major glitch, they are moving along quite nicely. i am amazed at this software. it just makes the phone work the way you never knew it was supposed to. it's hard to explain, but i'm guessing you know what i mean...

I do agree. It has tremendous potential and when they have finished the beta test I think that it will be great program.

yeah, like most betas, it could use some polishing, and it needs the kinks worked out. but, i think when it's done, it's gonna blow up. being a power exchange user, anything to make processes more streamlined and efficient are ok by me.

i was going to join the beta but they want everything just short of my left testicle as far as info. LOL.

I'm signing up, I'll send em a picture of my left testi if I have to... ANYTHING to get those beautiful mustaches on my phone, I gotta have em.. GOT TO I say!!!

now that i have these mustaches on my phone, i will never be able to use another phone without facial hair.

haha. i had the pictures uploaded to picasa, and that was the first thing i saw to hide the names, and thought it was stupid/funny at the same time.

since it is a limited private beta, they want to make sure everyone they invite fit a very specific profile (i'm assuming).
