Help ascend tapout

oh ok I was wondering because I was looking for kernal-rom. on huawei web sight but only the original kernal is there. Is the tapout much better then the original? I have original flashed with icarus.
 
I have both and it seems to be the same hardware just different OS. Which we are trying to get to work on other phones. Running into some problems but we are working on it. There WILL be a thread posted when it gets figured out.
 
We're having a lot of trouble with this. The rom from the TapouT does work on the regular Ascend but, they have only now got data working on it. You can get phone calls, sms and now data. They've still got to find a way to fix the wifi, and mms. -.- It's quite complicated for being the same phone.

EDIT: It's got data and MMS working now. Just got Wifi left on the list of not working things.

Does this mean once wifi works that it will be good to go??
