Just please don't have that protection mechanism tied to 3G data. Many of us keep data use to a minimum (as you and I have discussed).
As for software pirates, I'll never understand them, especially when these Android programs are so inexpensive.![]()
hello. i love your app. this thread is what brought me to android forums cause i'm trying to figure out the "enter a name or number-tap here for help" line at the top.
i saw another user already mentioned it, i'm wanting to get that dialogue removed big time. i know the line balances out screen, i just don't want those words there. for such a professional app, it makes me feel like a kid. ahahahajhg
i thank you for your genius and i'm very glad i bought your product. is there a setting i'm overlooking? or is there another skin i can use that gets rid of it??
thank you
Hey Shimon-
Just registered a little while ago. Used Takephone on my palm devices for many, many years. So happy to see that aTakephone is finally ready for prime time!
re: widget - The left/right arrows on the ibar widget aren't working for me. I can press them and they hi-light, but there is no scrolling happening.
Also, in the future, is there any chance of the widget in different sizes? Maybe 2x4?
Keep up the great work!
The widget is a separate download. Go to the market and search for it.
The widget is interesting, but doesn't do me much good, as I don't use photos on my contacts (I just don't have them). Names would be better.
Then, with all due respect, it's a lousy system. Now I've paid twice (and as I told you, I didn't mind it as long as the situation was resolved) for your program, and will have to be extremely careful to enable 3G when you 'upgrade' again - that isn't acceptable. I don't have this issue with any other program on my Captivate, so others seem to be able to deal with it without that restriction.Hi,
Afraid the Google licensing mechanism does require a one-time connection with their servers to validate the purchase.
As for the non-market - I am still trying to figure out what to do.

As I had told you before, I had already purchased aTAKEphOne (verified by your records, and, I've subsequently found the original receipt). This was an update, when you had put the white skin that I had admired. When I installed the update, the program somehow thought it was a new installation and that I hadn't purchased a license at all. I then deleted the app (per your instructions) and repurchased it. So the process isn't working as you said, somehow it broke my registration, because the update required data. That being said, I frequently purchase programs with my Captivate sitting in my dock, with the wifi connected and data turned off. Yours is the only program I've ever seen that required data to be on to make the purchase. If you are going to stick with this requirement, then you need to tell people that, up front - and make sure the process doesn't break an already purchased registration.I think I did not explain myself clear enough.
This does not need to happen on updates - only on the first one.
As long as you do not delete aTAKEphONE, the update should preserve your status.
The license check will happen only once after you downloaded from the market - assuming if you downloaded from the market, you had to have 3G enabled to do so.
Isnt that the case ?
Hi,
Tell you what I'll do - dont want to add another setting for this, so I will change the app to show this only during the first week of use. How about that ?

Thank you for the refund. Yes, Wifi was active. Had to be - because I downloaded the update![]()
I did delete and redownload (with data enabled) and it works fine. Now I'm waiting until the next update - I'll let you know how it goes then.
Still requires data to update. I'm sitting right here with my phone and my WIFI, the upgrade is available, but it takes me to the pay screen. This is ridiculous. Yours is the ONLY program that does this. I'll enable data and do the upgrade so we don't go through the purchase/refund cycle again, but really, this is unnecessary.
I take that back - I can't upgrade at all now without being brought to the pay screen, even after enabling data, most likely because it found the update via my wireless connection and I backed out of it to enable 3G. Am I really the only person with this problem?
Yes, please do - to my gmail address, I think you have it. I have figured out how to enable sideloading, so it isn't a problem now, I can play 'off-market'![]()
