Atrix vs Inspire

Well you can think that if you like but when the maker if the operating system that these phones run has chosen a single core to optimize its OS system that tells me and developers different

Its not just about the OS, its about games, Tegra games that won't run on a single core phone. Its about other services, webtop, HD video record and playback. A lot of people play games on there devices and will benefit from Tegra 2 especially games that are more graphic intensive. I understand you not gaming but a lot of people do.

Im not disparaging the phone. Im just saying there's a majority who wont use these features at all

I mean here is a snippet of the Tegra 2 press release. This can only benefit you whether you game or not. Just better performance and battery life is enough for me.

Tegra 2 Highlights:
• The Tegra 2 super chip turbocharges the super phone category and brings a new wave of devices to life with never-before-seen experiences. It features:
o Dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 CPU–The world’s first mobile dual-core CPU for faster Web browsing, snappier response time and better overall performance.
o Ultra-low powered (ULP) NVIDIA

I'm not downing the Inspire but this is a vs. thread and I just think the benefits of the Atrix are better over the Inspire. Not saying you are but most people play games, shoot pictures, videos, want better performance and battery life out of there smartphone. With the measly battery in the Inspire don't think I would get that.

Well im gonna see but I hear with the optimization if.the inspire.over the desire its gonna be much better with battery life.

Yea but you have to admit that the battery in the Inspire is ridiculous and by the time you by a higher capacity battery from Seidio you will be at or over the price for the Atrix. I don't like buying phones and then having to buy an extended battery for which it should have come with in the 1st place

To those that are questioning Blur, its like a Burger without cheese to me...LOL! Meaning its OK, but not like wow, I luv it! Its fairly usable, but to me its just a little bland. That phone will have Launcher pro, and Beautiful Widgets loaded on it within minutes of me putting the battery in, so to me its a non event.

I dont really like BLUR but I can't stand sense. It looks so ugly compared to stock android on the Nexus S. If it aint stock I must use launcher pro for it to be usable.

I will give you many reasons why this comparo makes sense.

1. I and many people will not spend the money on the dock.
2. I and many people will not play graphic intensive games and utilize the dual core
3. I and many people will like to be able to root and ROM
there are many other reasons but if you just take away the first two the atrix becomes just another phone and if I'm not gonna use its two biggest features, I'm gonna go for the other phone in this comparo. Its a no brainer for me. The Inspire has enough ram
(780), enough memory and a whole lot of functionality. There are many people out there on many forums that all like what the Atrix has to offer( like me ) but wont utilize it . So therefore this comparo becomes more relevant

1. I think many people will buy the dock especially since it will be priced around $150
2. Many people do play games on their phone. Games isn't the only thing that will benefit from the Tegra 2 dual core. HD movie playback will benefit, performance, speed, web browsing and better battery life are just a few things that will benefit from the dual core.
3. More people than not actually don't care about jail breaking and rooting there device, they just want it to work so this will appeal to the masses. it's not set in stone that the Atrix will be un-rootable or won't be able to run custom ROMs. You say that you won't utilize all the Atrix has to offer well unless you go in an replace the dual core with a single core you won't have a choice but to utilize the dual core. Like I said imroved battery life, better performance, faster web browsing. Just about every smartphone user needs and does those few basic functions..

1. we will see the sales figures for the docks especially the laptop dock lets say in 6 months and see how many?

2. Alot less dont play graphic intense games on their phones. sure people play little bs games here and there but many dont play huge games especially in the general population. Just look at the apple scenario the number one games were always things like angry birds or paper toss

3. Your assumptions about what the dual core will bring are just that, and even if they brin all those improvements your not acknowledging that they could also bring many issues that a single core wont have.

4. once again i do not dislike the Atrix i am just pointing out that once the hype dies down and the dust settles there will be many people who will buy another phone. Thats the reason there is choice, different phones for different people.

PS why are Atrix people starting to sound like apple people, "my phone is the be all and end all?"

What if HTC uses their e-fused automatic revert back to un-rooted stock locked bootloader? Its been cracked but with more effort than the Droid X.

What issue will a dual core bring over a single core because I have to tell you I love my dual core computer better than a single core one. Not saying that the Atrix is be all end all but it just seems like people are dismissing the benefits a dual core will bring over a single core and it won't be just gaming.

if that was the case i would be returning that but its highly unlikely. The reason HTc has stated in many instances of being friendly toward the DEV community and i think this action would be a slap in the face.

3. Your assumptions about what the dual core will bring are just that, and even if they brin all those improvements your not acknowledging that they could also bring many issues that a single core wont have.

Out of curiosity, what issues that single-cores won't have? The only thing I can think of is battery drain, and while I think Moto is giving this a huge battery for a reason, it has been elaborated plenty already dual cores are more resource effecient when optimized, and when unoptimized they are basically a single core when not optimized. So ai'm not following your logic here. When unoptimized both the Atrix and the Inspire have the same processor clock speed, except the Atrix has 1024MB of RAM whereas the Inspire has 780MB (?) of RAM.

PS why are Atrix people starting to sound like apple people, "my phone is the be all and end all?"

This happens with any game-changer. Will there be issues? Yes, there always are, but will there be issues with the Inspire? I would hope not, but I am sure there will be something, which is less excusable given that as pointed out the Inspire has already launched as the Desire HD...

Before such a big wave of people adapted to Android, you would hear, it's all good we have one thing in comon....We really like and support Android and it doesn't matter what device you use! That has gone out the window, so many people are divided between, Moto, HTC, Samsung, LG, etc. What's even crazy is that some people even argue with people that are using a phone made by the same company, but they each have different model? So crazy....LOL

It does sound a bit like Apple and Rim people to be honest. However it just proves how big Android has gotten over the last year. And many of those Apple and Rim people have deflected and come over to Android, and brought that, your phone sucks, and mine is the best BS! Its all good though, makes for exciting convos within the Forums...LOL.

They've done it before, most notably on the G2 which is the follow-up to the original modding phone (because we had to) the G1. I hope they felt enough backlash from the bad press over that whole debacle to steer clear of it this time, but remember that manufacturers view modding as a liability, only Samsung has been slow to realize that (Im not even sure they know what "root" is)...

I agree completely and this is why i state the things i do. Instead of being ecstatic that Android is growing and kicking butt there are these divisions that are weird. I have stated many times that i dont dislike the Atrix but it's not for me and I have reservations about it as a whole product. Every time I bring up a point of disagreement people basically say I'm insane or buying outdated hardware blah blah blah. Like i stated before there are many features on many phones that are worth while. Like I showed above the Sense gives the Inspire many features that the Atrix doesnt have but no one even brings those up. They automatically dismiss them and thats why its applesque its the lets ignore the pluses of the other phone and just tout our choice.
