Atrix vs Inspire

me i think once the dual core hype dies down it will be an ok phone not as great as everyone says

It's still a tempting device for people who don't currently have a laptop and/or netbook. I personally only use a desktop PC, and don't have any portable computing devices besides my smartphones, so this device is definitely attractive from that point of view in my eyes. Everybody has a different preference though, so I can see a lot of longterm interest in it regardless.

Aside from the obvious specs, I believe that HTC just gets Android, and has developed one of the best UI's. Moto, not so much....

I agree. Also like I have stated as cool as the atrix is there are some things that most wont utilize. The dual core for instance for that average buyer means absolutely nothing. Also the docks wont mean a thing unless you will utilize them fully. For example someone who needs a laptop most likely already owns one and wont purchase that dock. The average person wont use the hd. Dock either. Don't get me wrong its an impressive piece of kit but for average Joe its over kill. Then for the geek who likes to mod its underwhelming because if the locked boot

Agreed. I'm getting a new laptop with tax returns, so the dock would be useless to me. Maybe the charge cradle, but even then it's not a must buy. The phone is the seller for me, and motoblur has potential to F that up.

Have you used Moto Blur before?

I checked it out on a Backflip and Flipside. Just didn't appeal to me personally. It would be great if improvements were made between then and now to the UI!

I was under the impression that the version of blur that the atrix has is significantly updated from what those phones have. I hear the more recent Bravo has a more similar version.

What about it didn't you like? Aside from the different style widgets both UI's pretty much serve the same purpose. Besides Blur on the Atrix will be a big improvement over previous versions

What makes you think that? As of now we don't know

Blur on the Cliq is different than on the Bravo and I dont think they are putting an older version on the Atrix. Anyway I dont see why eveyone is saying Blur is going to mess this phone up. You can install a different launcher, you don't have to use there widgets. I think the phone will be just fine

Its personal preferences man. That's why there are more than one phone and UI. Just because alot of you guys love this phone the atrix isn't for everyone

I get that, I'm just saying everyone is saying Blur sucks or Blur is going to F this phone up and most have never used Blur. I hated Blur because everyone one else did or said I should but I never really used it. I think opinions like that puts fear or into those wanting this phone or any phone with Blur.

I guess it was just a personal preference. The widgets weren't my favorite to look at, or use. It almost felt like it was geared to a younger crowd than me. Couldn't really put my finger on it. Aside from reskinning it with different looks, I just prefer to go after the one that appeals to me from the outset, without having to change things if I wasn't happy with it's looks.

Well I dont go that route. I always.try stuff for myself and decide for myself. I don't care what people say because for me it might not be the same. Just like this discussion most are telling me go atrix your crazy. I know what I want from a phone and what I need and the inspire is the right phone for me no matter what most believe

Thats understandable, I just hate when people say this sucks or that sucks when actually you just prefer Sense because you say it looks better. I personally dont use a bunch of widgets on my phone, I use a few but I like to keep it simple and clean. The thing I like about Blur is the remote wipe and restore feature. Both UI's integrate FB, twitter and other social account contacts if you want them to but I don't think it sucks just not preferred by some and the same can be said with sense. Some say sense is more intrusive than Blur but I guess people dont know that they dont have to integrate there contacts.

Well this is true people always use stupid terminology its because they always have they " I have it so its the best " syndrome

Totally agree! Sheep run rampart through the tech world!! I first started Android on the G1, then MyTouch 3G. Lots of hatred then. Went to iPhone for a while, but I've been really wanting back into Android once again. Up until now, nothing has been my taste. A good clock widget, and a quick contact dialer is my personal preference. Not much else. If Moto has made improvements to the UI, it's definitely going to make things much harder to decide which is best for me. Hardware wise, it's even for me. UI wise, it could be a tough choice.

The one thing I dislike about HTC is that there phones are all starting to look alike. I do like the clock widget on sense and for that I use Beautiful Widgets but I do get tired of looking at the clock widget sometimes. UI's can be changed, widgets can be changed but what intrest me most about the Atrix is its specs and dock options. Sure some say that the dual cores will not be used to its full potential out the box but I have no doubt that it will be. Smart phones are starting to move away from single cores and I think we will see a few more dual cores at MWC. The more RAM and dual cores can on;y benefit you in the long run.

Yes but the move is more of a marketing ploy than actual usability

I mean let's be serious even if the cores keep doubling the reality is its gonna be a few years to optimize that use. So single cores will still be worth while. The move.to multiple cores is more for the first to the game feature than actual usability. By the end of the year there will be phones that make the atrix look weak but that wont make.your phone or the single cores worthless. Android till the next.nexus arrives has been optimized for single core. So all this dual core etc etc is just hype

I don't think its marketing ploy at all, I think both cores are and will be used in this phone. Maybe not to its full potential right away but will be used nonetheless.

Well you can think that if you like but when the maker if the operating system that these phones run has chosen a single core to optimize its OS system that tells me and developers different

Lol the new psp has FOUR cores! Thats overkill, I dont phones need dual core at the moment, I am also slightly leaning towrds the inspire as well, just wondering how the screen quality is, camera quality and battery life. Either inspire or arc, but I will check both out at att that week and make my decsion.
