When was the last time you looked in the "All Things Root Guide"? Please give the Guide a thorough look through. If you see that something is missing, something that no longer works, or something that is hard to understand, let me or another staff member know, or post your concerns here.

The All Things Root Guide is for you. It is also a great reference source for helping another member with a problem.
We have tried our best to make sure everything you need is in the guide, and in a manner that is easily understandable.

Thank you. I look forward to your input.

Read over that a few times before I tried to run a custom ROM.
I did run into a little problem when I tried to place a recovery on my phone, but that's because I forgot to turn off auto linking in Link2SD. The phone functioned perfectly, I could just not access the recovery. With a little help and research I got it all straightened out.

If people read the great source of info on that page they should never brick a V.
Sad to see continued posts about people bricking them with all the info right in front of them.

+1 ^ All the info are readily available if only people would take the time and make the effort to read and understand. ;)

There's no mention of the V6 SuperCharger in the All Things Rooted Guide. Is it still relevant and applicable? There are some brief mentions in Jerry's BACKside thread, and that's how I learned about it. I still apply it after each ROM update just out of habit. It seems to help with OV's performance but I don't know enough to be a valid judge or making endorsements. Anyone has any insight and/or experience? Thanks.

Thanks for the reminder. I'll add the links to V6 Supercharger, 3G Turbocharger, and the Battery one that I forgot about as well.

Sorry about that Leslie Ann. Fixed!
Thank you for letting me know of those errors.

If anybody else see an error or a broken link, etc, please fell free to point it out so I can get it corrected right away. There is a lot of info in the Guide to keep on top of so your help is appreciated.

Adding the MD5 hashes for the files would be nice. Especially for the recovery images. Most of the links point directly to mediafire, so the guide offers no way to check them.

Any recovery without a dev site hompage and md5 sum could not be found. Suggestion would be to download AFV(Android File Verifier) from the market and download the recovery twice. If you get the same md5 sum both times then chances are it's not corrupt.

Most of the Recoveries' MD5s are available somewhere online but have to search for them though. I've compiled a personal list of what I've found to date:

Code:
Recovery MD5 Checksum

Please note that some of the Recoveries are listed under various names at different sites but they're actually the same. FYI and HTH.

[Edit] Another note of caution: there may be different versions of a Recovery under the same names so the MD5 listed above would not match. The MD5s listed above are for the Recovery files I've personally downloaded and saved. Confusing indeed... [/Edit]

Thanks, I'll download each recovery in the Guide that doesn't have an md5 sum that matches one you have provided, then check the md5 sum with what you have provided to verify.

EDIT: tli your md5 sums must have come from a different source than those in the Guide. The only one that can be verified is the VM670NH_recovery.img. The Touch screen recovery's md5 sum is provided in the dev's site/thread. I'll include the md5 sum for the VM670NH.

All someone has to do is copy a file then generate their own md5 sum before they put it on a download site.

I can only post the md5 sum of the file on the download site, provided thru the guide.

Maybe if enough members posted their md5 sum for each recovery downloaded thru the guide. I could verify that way and post the md5 sum.
